Modi is absolutely right in comparing Kerala with Somalia. His anguish was that the most literate state in India has an infant mortality rate in tribal areas lower than than one of the poorest countries in the world, Somalia. What is wrong? Kerala, blessed with so much of natural resources, and intelligent people should/and would take it in the right sense and work for improving the situation.
An article is written by Adiwasi Lady, please read , so the darker side of Kerala would be revealed to them who are still ignorant of pathetic situation of Kerala adiwasis. Shame for the political leadership who had been ignoring them since decades and also to them who never tired to boast of Kerala's human face.

Attapadi has problems of remote villages in the middle of forests, of people who want to follow their traditional ways of life without modern medicine; and on top of that they have genetic diseases that condemn them to lives of pain and misery.
But it is wrong to suggest that this is all kerala is capable of. The state goverment does spend a lot of its earnings on health, education and welfare. There just are no easy ansswers here
And any person who uses one revenue sub-division to condemn an entire state should be ready to face questions about his own track record, and that of his followers.

And here is what one CM had to say in 2012 - when facing questions that 47 percent of children under 5 were seriously underweight - to the extent of affecting their future health.
a) Gujarat has succeded in becoming a middle-class state b) middle class girls are figure conscious and refuse to drink the milk their mothers force on them
again - this was about malnutrition in 5 year olds- at the state wide level.
This is the view-point of the man who is offering himself as tomorrow's choice for Kerala.
And he didn't take back his words then, and I'll bet he is not going to do the same for Somalian blunder he passed - it is not his style, when he goes wrong, because to his acolytes, he never goes wrong.

The IMR among the ST population in Rajasthan, M.P, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, etc. range from a much more pathetic 77 to 110 !
This fact alone knocks the wind out of the moral right of the komaaaali and other BJP leaders to talk about the IMR of the ST population in Kerala.

2. The MMR is various states are : 148 in Gujarat vs 81 in Kerala. Other BJP states are much worse. Rajasthan : 381, M.P : 269

4. Open defecation for want of toilets : 74 % of STs in Gujarat; 25 % in Kerala; 91 % in MP and Jharkhand and 8 % in Chattisgarh
5. 44 % of STs in Kerala have drinking water source within household premises; Only 28 % in Gujarat have this facility.

ST population (healthcare, nutrition, secx ratio, female participation in the workforce, employment under the MNREGS, efficiency of the food distribution system and numerous others), Kerala stands head and shoulders above Gujarat and each of the other BJP ruled states (not to mention other Congress ruled states too) !
The komaaaaali made his ignorance and arrogance starkly evident by comparing Kerala with Somalia (when his own state of Gujarat comes much closer to that country in terms of the human development of tribals as well the human development of the general population) !!

We know only one thing, in Kerela and WB - local do not carry any respect as for every enterprise - a lot of litigation started from other locals, whereas these people are respected in other States. As such no industry develops in these two States. Left parties are organised goondas, need HAFTA VASULI for every work.

All these 60 years you mentioned the govenment was elected by people of Kerala. If they had no problem with left or congress then who are you to question?
