the fact that common Keralites are generally much better read than commoners in North India and in his state of Gujarat, poor Komaaaaali Modi let out the following gem from his foul mouth yesterday on one of his hindi braying campaigns in Kerala :

"Kerala is similar in situation to Somalia in terms of human development" !!!!

The komaaaaali must have left the great majority among his own malayali supporters dumbfounded with this discovery, not to mention those who oppose him and those who are not politically committed.

With the kind of bigoted upbringing steeped in ignorance Modi was obviously brought up in, he must be excused for not knowing the following :

1. Kerala has been ranked first among Indian states in terms of human development index for 24 successive years from 1990 to 2014 by the UN and the government of India (HDI was first devised in 1990)

2. The UN classifies regions into 4 categories in terms of human development, viz, regions with Very High development, High development, Medium development and Low development.

Kerala is the only state in India that falls in the Very High development category.

3. In fact, Keralas HDI (0.825 out of a maximum possible 10) places it equal to the 45th ranked country in the world. Viewed against the fact that India is placed 130th in the world, Keralas lead over all other Indian states is powerfully placed in perspective.

4. The second ranked Indian state in terms of HDI in 2014 was Himachal Pradesh which, with an index of 0.709, is at the same level as the 104th ranked country in the world !!

Kerala equals the 45th ranked country while the 2nd placed Indian state HP equals the 104th ranked country !

5. And where are the great BJP ruled states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, M.P and Chattisgarh in this index/ranking ??

Where ?

Gujarat is ranked 12th among Indian states and is equal to the 133rd ranked country in the world.

Rajasthan is ranked 17th in India and is equal to the 160th ranked country.

Jharkhand and M.P are both ranked 18th in India and are equal to the 168th ranked country.

Chattisgarh is ranked 23rd among Indian states and is equal to the 177th ranked country !!

In other words, the BJP ruled states are not only no match for the state of Kerala in terms of basic human development but also even below the Indian national average index !!

But, oh, I am needlessly digressing. As I said earlier, how can anyone expect the bigoted and ignorant komaaaaaali Modi to know what the UNHDI is and how it is derived using several quality of life indices (such as levels of education, healthcare, income, sanitation, drinking water availability, etc.) ??

And what is the point anyway in wondering about the komaaaalis foolishness when his sheer ignorance comes through in his act of braying out his foolishness before the general public in Kerala state ??

Yes, the NDA is expected by some quarters to win 1 seat out of 140 seats this time !

And for that, the Prime Minister of the country is visiting Kerala 4 times to hold hindi braying rallies - all for securing 1 seat out of 140 !

The BJP is spending the maximum amount of money in Kerala, more than the Congress led UDF and immensely more than the CPM led LDF, all to win 1 seat out of 140 !

is conducting no less than 4 rallies in Kerala - all for getting 1 seat out of 140 !

The BJP is spending the biggest amount among all political parties for campaigning in Kerala (so much so that even Vellappally Natesan, the puny little general secretary of the SNDP, is given a helicopter for campaigning), all to hopefully win 1 seat out of 140 !

ri, I am in kerala and first time I saw a LDF leader suresh kurup asking who happens to be my relative too come to my house (tharavadu) and ask for votes. It was amazing seeing him.why did he come? Analyze the older election difference was not very high between UDF and LDF and mostly it was 69 and 71 and so now 1 seat goes to BJP what happens 69,70,1 probably and at that point what happens? What happens with 2 seats is disaster too. Think mathematically it makes sense or be a komaali as always

You really are a little komaaaali yourself, aren't you ?

The difference between UDF and LDF was *not very high and mostly it was 69 and 71* ???

Really ??

Please check the MLA count for the two fronts in the previous elections and find out. They are available on the website of the Election COmmission of India.

Except for 2011 (when the VS led LDF bucked the trend and won 68 seats despite being in power for 5 years), the scores read 100-40, 95-45, 90-50, etc. !

And now it is more than evident that Oommen Chandy, realizing that he will be defeated and may have to go into permanent retirement, is moving his dice very carefully to try and resurrect the old infamous Ko-Li-Bi clandestine arrangement !

O Rajagopal of BJP is going to win from Nemom. In the Lok Sabha he got the highest votes in this constituency and was leading the nearest candidate by 18000 votes.

Yamlaji, if BJP gets even one seat you will see UDF and LDF running for BJP support , that is the mathematical equation in kerala. I know it since I am a keralite and right now in kerala to vote. Wait and watch what will happen
