how is/was biometric national ID of UK which was cited as an example for advocating UID/aadhaar different? Both are admittedly either apples or both are oranges. UK has abandoned it after LSE study, in India no independent study done as yet.
Wow, what a LOT of verbal diarrhoea.. Full of half-baked "facts" and 'figures" to substantiate the incessant rant! Pathetic baseless allegations. Not once USA's social security scheme or any other such successful identification scheme are mentioned, a deliberate ploy to avoid those and project it the way this "author" wants !?

Can UID numbers of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and UID/aadhaar numbers of Indian voters be converged? Will such convergence save democracy or undermine it?
Does the author know how many Indians are under BPL? Even that BPL definition is ridiculous. Majority of the Indians don't bother about privacy and related security, they are bothered about food security, roof above their heads, healthcare security and education for their children. They are more concerned about the misappropriation of funds meant for their welbeing by the corrupt leaders, bureucrats, businessmen, etc. who afford to be afraid of their privacy. The author should keep in mind that socio economic situations of India and Norway, U.K. or other developed coutries are totally different. Let us first prioritize the upliftment of the common indians upto the standards of the countries mentioned by the author, then we will panic about the privacy.

Biometric data like finger print, voice-print iris scan and DNA do not reveal citizenship, then why link entitlements of citizens with biometric aadhaar?

He is not talking about identification alone, but the government using your biological details (fingerprints, DNA, blood profile etc). Do you want some perfect stranger sitting in Delhi to know your blood sugar levels, or who you slept with two weeks back? Who is the nutcase here?

Yeah. We should all shift bank accounts to Switzerland, stop paying taxes, change our names and hide in jungle. After all someone will misuse you otherwise. :-)

Jaichand, Mir Zafar and Jeevan Lal who collaborated with foreign powers are still remembered as traitors. Modern day collaborators should be identified.
