Author Utterly Disconnected From Modi-Led-BJP Ground Movement
by rishi on Jun 12, 2016 08:39 PM

.....NONE....I repeat, NONE of the stalwarts of RSS-BJP-Combine in the state and central governments are elitist by any measure . The author is just plain anti-BJP and the present government which is run by by what is a fully home-grown outfit made up of RSS_BJP combine, where each one has their feet fully entrenched on the ground and are governing with a sense of servitude that was unseen till now. The author should have been bold enough to point his guns at the the disgusting colonial congress regimes where the 'elitist baba-baby culture hardened by a jee-hujooori culture right from the peon to the president was practised shamelessly for sheer greed and corruption.....the author is fully exposed in his malicious intent in disrupting a smooth economic development process of the nation.

till the advent of easy available of information as it is today there was never an idea of india . a villager did not know how is the life in a vill 12km away . after independence we never tried to develop free electronic media. doordarshan fed us info as desired by one ruling family .indian knew him self at the most allied with his state or cast . it is now with the advent of free electronic media that an idea of INDIA as a nation is slowly emerging . each group will have to forget its past history. good or bad and work in unison. public would demand fair play. rule of law . speedy trial and conviction of the corrupt and criminal accountability of the head of the department for acts of omission and commissions by his juniors.era of coalition govt at state and national level is over. a leader will be more important than his party, as the nation thanks to media is gauging each one for professionalism and integrity. WHAT IS THE USE OF LIVING IN PAST AND WASTE TIME READING HISTORY

A student is supposed to study and acquire knowledge for fulfillment of life. It is not his role to act like a politician or a revolutionary.

Nobody can disagree with Prof. Khilnani's view that "in an open society, artists, writers, painters or photographers are the people who have to be entitled to say what they want", but is it not also true that "ubi jus ibi pensum" (where there is a right, there is a duty)? Is their entitlement to "say what they want" absolute? Are they not under a moral/social obligation to ensure against gratuitously offending/mocking/deriding/demeaning the sensitivities/beliefs of others?

Is there any way to expose the flaws of a society without offending people? Is there no room for ridicule? If such things are prevented, I don't think free speech will exist any more.

No, people never went to JNU to become good doctors, engineers or chartered accountants. The strength of JNU is Humanities. Commenting on politics is part of the students' education. It should be encouraged, not suppressed.

Yes. The concern is that the suppression has been going on for last 60 years where only leftist and Marxist views were allowed to flourish in JNU. Now that an alternate view is trying to be projected the so called liberals are crying horse.

All these students are from naxal area or maoist supported, should they be allowed to study with subsidy-majority of teachers influencing them are from West Bengal or Kerela-both States are anti industry and growth.
These students must be first rusticated or should be shifted to the Universities in the maoist area so as to work practically there and show their performance instead of creating hurdles in other places.
Those who are supporting them through media, political patronage etc., should be brought under legal action for creating riot like situation.

Your view of Kerala (and, probably, W Bengal) is quite outdated. One good thing about Kerala is that the authorities are more conscious about their duty to work for the common people than elsewhere.

Workers thrown out of their jobs in Gujarat come to Kerala!

Considering some peoples communal bias should go to fight along with IS to get experience and expertise to implement their agenda here in RSS sakha.

I have written some critical points on the so called 'student movement' but still awaiting moderators review. That is the tolerance of rediff and they talk of intolerance and freedom of expression.

What is the author saying? I do not understand and which is the movement he is talking about?? Just a handful communist minded people shouting anti national slogans are the people on movement. Sad this old man has gone nuts?? To have a movement it should be national and not communists. Those who are really desirous of studying are doing it through out India. No need to worry about all things being meted out by a few communist minded people whose prerogative is to be destabilize India. They are like you.

@ Mukundan Menon : Communists are knockers. They ruled for 30 years in West Bengal and likewise in Kerala too. Their ability to develop the two states is abysmal. They can only complain all the time ... poor working class believes that the communists will bring paradise to them ... we all know what happened in Russia and else where.

They see some faults in society and point them out. Nothing to do with the soviet era. The way to deal with them is debate and discussion, not prosecution and death threats.
