JNU Scholars
by BUDH PRAKASH PUNDIR on Mar 17, 2016 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

JNU is full of great scholars and minds according to media and politicians? Can somebody enlighten on the ranking of JNU in the top world universities/academic institutes? Any international awards to their teachers in science or literature? Or it is self praising by JNU faculty?

Not only searching, I have been to some of these universities. For your kind information, NONE OF THE INDIAN UNIVERSITIES COME IN TOP 100 GLOBAL LIST except IISC BANGALURU, which came up in top 100 only last year. PLEASE CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE CHALLENGING. PLEASE PASTE HERE YOUR GOOGLE SEARCH RESULT AND TELL US THE RANKINGS OF THESE UNIVERSITIES at global level. I MUST TELL YOU THE POSITION for IISC is 99th at global level.

JNU - a jewel in India's crown
by Vijay Sahani on Mar 17, 2016 11:16 AM  | Hide replies

JNU is emerging as a jewel in India's crown. Whatever may be the ideology of the students there, the University is giving them space to evolve. there is no stifling of the views of the students. That is how an autonomous University should be.

Because most of the students there are from backward community or are poor or are from minority community, their political leaning may be anti establishment but that is really not the concern of the University. All that the University has to do is allow the views to flow freely. And JNU has scored high on that score.

There can not be anti national views. This is not ideology. University is for study and creative work. Poors are there in entire world. MS Dhoni, Sharukhkhan, Dharmendra, Modiji etc... Poors n minority are excuses...

If you started earning at the age of 18, you definitely didn't go to college. At best, you might have acquired some degree on correspondence course. Then, why are you heaping praises on JNU or commenting on University education.

But the families will remain poor if their highly educated children don't support them financially. By the way who is minority in our country? Poor People? Muslims? Women? As far as India is concerned only billionaires and Parsis are minorities here.

The JNU Brand
by paliakara narayanan sreenivasan on Mar 17, 2016 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

The JNU Brand of intellectualism is nothing but creating hate among the society members in the name of disparity in income and social structure and status widely found in any part of the world. This so socalled fire brand prospers on spreading fire and hatred without actually finding any solution. If they were capable, the peasant and workers in Communist China should be rich and prosperous and so in Soviet Russia. So in Kerala and West Bengal. This young ones in this Brand is exploited by their seniors exactly like any other political party cadres being exploited by their seniors. Come whatever, the rulers will be Pappus , whether Yadav or Gandhi.
