The social media is beseiged now with remarks

from people to the effect that Indians can make China regret denying India a place in the NSG by not buying Chinese goods.

Now, what these people dont realize is :

1. The traders who bring in Chinese goods into India are almost entirely Indian, not Chinese !

2. These Indian traders (mostly North Indians) go to China and hunt for the cheapest but deceptively good looking products and bring them to India wholescale. It is in these products that they make the biggest margins. They are able to get them very very cheap from the Chinese and sell them to mostly unsuspecting Indians who fall for the combination of good looks and cheap prices (just a little bit cheaper than desi equivalents).

3. Exports to India makes up just 2.6 % of the total exports from China (60 billion USD). And if the profits earned by the Chinese from exports is estimated, exports to India earn much less than 2.6 % of the total profits earned by them.

4. In recent years, after the closure of illegal iron ore mines in Karnataka and Goa at the direction of the National Green Tribunal, Indian exports to China nosedived and has led to a great widening of the trade gap between India and China (in favour of the latter). This gap is now more than 50 billion USD per annum (i.e., the value of Indian exports to China is roughly just 20 % of Chinese exports to India). This situation usually would have invited immediate protectionist measures from the commerce ministry in those sectors which are out of the ambit

of the WTO. However, no such measure has been taken by the govt so far. This reveals the hold the Indian lobby that trades in Chinese goods has on the govt

Therefore, the impression that many Indians, especially middle class Indians, have that they can somehow harm Chinese interests much by not purchasing Chinese made goods is not based on sound logic. In fact, the segment that will actually be hurt if such an unlikely event takes place is the group of Indian traders who make a lot of money indeed from trading in Chinese goods.

Whichever way the matter is looked at, there is just no way the Chinese could be bothered much with the kind of economic or military might India has or claims to have !

The foreign media burst into laugh when the selfie raja once said plastic surgery, air travel and stem cell therapy... all invented by Indian during vedic age. Yes it was a serious talk by the fekuraja in a public meeting. Somehow Indian media did not take it up much because they can not celebrate the blunder of the top executive of the country. Now he hires his low IQ technicians to identify gold in caww urinnnn and platinum in dung

Modi is very unreasonable
by manojcshah on Jul 01, 2016 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

Modi is a very unreasonable man. A reasonable man adapts himself to the surrounding conditions. An unreasonable man adapts the surrounding conditions to himself. All progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Modi is a hero country is blessed to have him.

Psychological Problem.
by Anand on Jun 30, 2016 11:50 PM  | Hide replies

This person is a megalomaniac, and thinks that the world turns around because of him.

He has made hardly any difference in our relations with any country, but still has the 'what a good boy am I' feeling.
