What should we have done?
by Ravindran Eswaran on Jun 26, 2016 06:54 PM

The writer says we should have prepared for Brexit. But has he made even one suggestion how we should have prepared for Brexit? By not seeking NSG membership? Has he, in his article, forecast at least one consequence of Brexit for India? I was not educated about either Brexit or NSG. So much for expertise!

What did you do for 12 years to help SBI ?
by janga sridhar on Jun 25, 2016 12:56 AM

Giving lectures? What did you do for 12 years to help SBI ? It is is doldrums because of people like you. Sorry to be blunt.
BREXIT will have no impact on India. If any it will be positive as Britain will start looking for partners in trade and we will have an edge when it is outside EU than with it in EU.
India's nuclear ambitions will not change with or without being in NSG. Getting into NSG was a shortcut to meet out nuclear objectives. It doesn't matter we have enough brain power to beat the world when we set out sights on what we need. Our scientists are competent enough.

Bottom line heavens are not falling in Britain leaves EU. The $ will become stronger the Euro will become weaker and the US will continue to retain its No 1 position.

BREXIT

To face the challenges of Brexit the best person to handle the situation was R.Rajan. Through his apt and timely measures he had bailed out the country from fragile five. By not extending the tenure of the RBI governor BJP has put us in doldrums emanating out of Brexit. It is always safe to give command to trusted and tested person in the challenging times and it is our tragedy that we have eroded ourselves.

your credibility is gone with the statement"Nuclear power stations take 20 to 30 years to commission" go and check time taken for RAPS,TAPS new unit commissioning by NPCIL. Do your homework before writing something.
So Modi must give up everything and keep watching the TV screen about BREXIT results..This semms to be the message you are conveying..why should Indian PM talk to Indian public about Brexit.
Doomsday predictors have come and gone..you too will join the list..till then don't pollute the minds of people and instill fear

Rightly said, had it been so we could not have generated a single mw of nuclear energy. He should comment on Banking sector, his domain area and not on the subject totally unknown to him. Being worked in Uranium sector, I can firmly say that we have all the technology and safety measures. What is not with us is the sufficient reserve of uranium.

then why India is again and again approaching NSG members for membership whether is is only show bazi from our side to fool indian people. See how Indirga Gandhi developed Pokarn with help of APJ and without knowing international community especially USA. Now a days each and every matter will go to USA and discussions with President. Be strict in India itself and get work from the concerned engineers and scientists instead of go on begging fir FDI. This is insulting indian voters who have elected this govt. it was better for loot govt only percentage of FDI negoitated instead of 100% that too important indian fields.

The writer has not written about Brexit's consequences for India. Forget it. Since he has written about Nuclear energy, let me ask (of course, not to him, but generally) why can't India develop technology for Thorium facilitation. Do we lack scientific talent and resources?
