Because the ministers and PM has doubtful degree they do not now the need to be good educated.
They do not know the difference between money earned by a doctor and the money earned by mafia. They know only that mafia is better because they earn more.
BJP is putting BJP sympathizers or people with questionable ethics to top positions in educational / cultural institutions because it wants to "control" the future of India and how Indians think. This is a very dangerous agenda of RSS / BJP for which the country will have to pay heavily in the long term.
The past practice of having one's political proteges has led to this appointment of Chetan Chauhan. Could we not find someone who understands fashion better? Chetan Chauhan may have created problems for Jaitley in DDCA but accommodating him at NIFT is CERTAINLY NOT THE SOLUTION. Someone with nothing called brains inside his head must have thought this up ... or that worthy has a hidden agenda to defame NDA, Modi among others.
I think its Modi answer to all those intellectuals, award wapsi gang, afzal premi gang who are deep antinationals. He may not be from the field but definately true Indian. Which quality of Rahul Gandhi makes him a PM candidate by cong. Highly qualified, IITIan, Kejariwal is of what use to delhi. Dhoni was a footboller who accidently became a cricketer and most successful caption. There are innumerable example of successful ppl who were never from the same field in which they attained success. Or waise bhi modi jo phane wo fashion ho jata hai uske liye fashion expert ki jarurat nahi. Or jo dress ramp per dikahi deti hain wo kabhi peni nahi ja sakti jo ki expert dwara banai hoti hain.
Never in the past non executive Chairmen's appointments have led to so much,instant criticism and media debate. Now a days, anything NDA does, it leads to critcism, debate and often redicule. But has anyone asked how many NIFT chairmen in the past were fashion or design specialists!Not many. I know Mr.PK Laheri of Gujarat IAS cadre, who was not a fashion expert, but did a great job of reviving NIFT. We forget that Chairmen are to act as mentors and guide to CEO and the internal HODs who are specialists. They are to Lead and monitor decisions in the Board. If we go by specialists only as Charimen,no IAS officer or seniour executive with managerial experience will qualify. And dont forget, specialists will not always be good in leadership and management.Current debate is out of ignorance about understanding difference between a profiles of HOD, CEO and Chairman of the Board. Mr.Chauhan may prove to be a very good Chairman. Let performance be the criteria. Not a bias against NDA decisions.
we given majority to bjp for form govt and also we should allow them to run the govt peacefully but some people for politics with the help of some news channel a d media house oppose every thing it is very bad if a genuine mistake must be oppose but only for politic it not supportable overall it is the lose of nation so give them good thinking

Fashion industry is a money spinner and belongs to elite sections of society. What matters is administration. Many state governments are appointing MLAs as heads of state run corporations. Why these things are not questioned?

It seems BJP is seeing all government or other institutions in India as a source for giving employment to their jobless blind followers. This will ruin the nation and hence its anti-national activity. The reason for mismanagement, failure to control prices, etc., all due to such incompetent persons holding responsible and accountable positions. I guess BJP needs to rethink about it else their such anti-national activities would backfire for the country and the people.
