Hitherto I have not tracked the performance of other states in this regard. Normally in our state girls only perform better than boys but the difference in performance is ranging 1 - 2% only depends on the district and this continues over a period of more than 20/30 years. Further out of 20 about 10-12 are from boys. Many years first three ranks used to be shared among boys & girls. But in Maharashtra the ratio is something abnormal. Something wrong in the system. Both parents and govt should take necessary steps to encourage boys. It is unhealthy and future generation may be spoiled

Boys know that even with 80 percent in open category -- no reserved jobs -- no admissions in good colleges and at free seats in engg -- Those who dont have much money -- do 10 class only for some Matric qualification -- and get engaged in some work , one can see boys working in wada paw shops , hotels as waiters , wine shops , etc getting a passing mark is sufficient -- after alla wada paw seller makes the same money working care free without any pressue having an under educated intelligent wife . as a graduate engineer in an indian company with tensions and pressures without leaves and a brain eating educated wife with higher school and college percentage
