the bmc
by zubair shighrekar on Jul 23, 2016 02:52 PM

the bmc is doing nothing but to collect TAX and give that money as salaries to its staff

every year we see this in mumbai,

for a change if bmc invite cooperative societies to dig well in their society and store the rain water in that deep well a lot of rain water will go into that well and it will reduce the water logging problem

also the society can use that water for themselves or they can sell it to hotels and other businesses

Natural way to control global warming
by ganesh pillai on Jul 23, 2016 01:33 PM

If we do not pay respect to Mother Nature, this is bound to happen in order to restore some order.

We should learn that money is not everything but trees and environment is everything without which we cannot survive. As for flooding, rainwater harvesting should be done to let more water down into earth rather than staying on surface.

Why to worry now? Atlesst more than 2 crores will b affected. Then other countries will also be affected. Before that may wipe entire human settlements in this universe. Why to blame nature? Be prepared for natural as well as man made calamities.

Mumbai drowning
by Parthasarathy Krishna on Jul 23, 2016 11:10 AM

We can't probably fight against nature. Sure the great writer would agree!! IITians say we are sitting on a soil where earth quake can damage ie Mumbai. The services tell we are in a range where Pakistan can hit us by their rocket launch!! Then the weather man says Mumbai only few inches above sea level at some places can drown..Mumbai open to Arabian Sea directly that the wind can blow n so in and so forth!! Nobody imagined the psunami at Neworleons which drowned, and at chennai which escaped!! Natural disaster can't be written in a book by imagining?
