Could be incorrect
by Shyam Sunder on Aug 10, 2016 11:38 AM

Figures and data could be inaccurate or incorrect. For example, Haryana shows negative rate while Delhi shows 11.6% positive growth. Most of Haryana is NCR and visitors to Delhi could be inclusive of Haryana. Similarly there seems to be presumption that each year there should be more tourists. Number of tourist could be more than other states but less than that of previous year for a State in which case we cannot treat it as negative. For example Bihar with 2.8 crores is positive while Jharkhand with 3.3 crores is shown negative. Instead the actual number of tourist against total tourists for country as a whole for year should be counted.

Surprised of TN
by WILSON CHANDRAN on Jul 29, 2016 06:08 PM  | Hide replies

It is surprising to note that TN leads among all the states with very large number. Is it because of Ooty & Kodiakanal for Hill stations, Madurai & Rameswaram for pilgrimage, Courtalam for falls, and Kanniyakumari for south end of India. Mamallapuram for sculptors and because of various Industries. Is it because of, a large number of Tamils migrate to other places all over the world.
In fact Kerala seems to attract natural beauty.
The article could have been given reasons as the difference between the next state is huge in numbers.

There is nothing surprising. TN has been no.1 for foreign tourists & no.2 for domestic tourism for the past 20 years. Maybe you didnt know it or chose to ignore it. Foreign tourists come to TN for the marvellous temple architecture, coupled with no fear of being raped. Domestic tourists come to TN for Ooty and Kodiakanal, again with no fear of being raped.
