The Tribunal and the Courts should keep away from the day to day administrative matters of the Armed Forces. Lest they would be laying a dangerous precedence.
She will be branded as a FM lady. (FM stands for fickle mindedness)
I was also a Short service officer. I had applied for Permanent Commission along with 99 others. Only ten of us were given PC. Does anyone imagine that the rest would have gone to court and the court would have given them PC? Ridiculous!!
There should not be any compromise on national security .i think court should stay away from this matter better to investigate the issue internally within the army
The article is one sided giving only the points of IAF and therefore is irrelevant. No officer is fool to,go yo court unless she /he has some strong points in own favour.Whatsoever, this is very unfortunate and speaks low of the defamed IAF.

You are right Puja. If you have strong case, go ahead. This is what we expect from our fighters.

Yes You are correct.a This article gives more of periphery information rather than major cause.
It is really surprising and shocking. If she has come upto the rank of WG.CDR there is no reason to deny PC.And in Admin branch this seems to be strange. We hope she will get justice.
The subject opted for short service extension and later on changed her mind seeking permanent commission at last moment. She is clearly on wrong side and has been rightly denied. She is only buying sympathy on gender ground to get media attention. S

Likely ! This arguement appears to be more rational.....the defence administration being in very capable hands one can be certain the outcome would be fair to both the officer and the armed forces. The officer cannot oputrightly expect the armed forces or the courts to bend on gender grounds !
Is promotion a right, defective service rules, therefore govt. servants do not work, as condition/interference of unions/ill mannered behaviour etc.,k in civil services are worse to defence.
The ACR or the Annual Confidential Report written on each officer is totally subjective.Further it is never shown or discussed with the respective office, with the effect he or she never gets to know about it.All the promotions/PC are based on this secretive report. So,it is possible that injustice could have been done.In a scale of 9,one has to get at least 7 to get any benefit. Six and below you will get superseded.

Her ACR was not at all involved in this case! She wanted to quit after taking the benefit of the pay commission, which she thought would be out by Dec 2015! Now that, as per the pay commission recommendations, a Wing Commander would get around Rs.1.5 Lakhs (plus all other benefits), and this greedy woman is blaming the IAF for her delayed decision!
