Abhishekam
by palanki narayana on Jul 08, 2016 02:10 PM

Will some leader try to dissuade devotees/admirers from performing the wasteful and meaningless ritual of 'abhishekam'? The practice of pouring water/milk over idols, statues or even cut-outs of gods, political leaders and film stars has reached ridiculous levels. Abhishekam as a ritual of purification aimed against anyone (Kanhaya Kumar to Jagjivan Ram) is not only offensive but criminal too.

What sort of article is this? Has Rediff gone crazy? Are there no sane people around you? The perceived link between the three persons is plain rubbish!
