The Congress Vice-President, Shri Rahul Gandhi, has claimed that the Prime Minister hardly consults his senior Ministers. If Shri Rahul Gandhi is to be believed, then Smt. Sushma Swaraj is not consulted on the Pakistan policy, Shri Rajnath Singh was unware of the Nagaland accord and, presumably, I am unware of the Budget proposals.

As one evolves from a young to a middle-aged one, we certainly expect a certain level of maturity. The more I hear Shri Rahul Gandhi, the more I start wondering “how much does he know – when will he know”.

The Prime Minister should be the natural leader of the party and the Government. In the NDA it is so. The UPA was quite different. The Prime Minister is to lead by example. The present Prime Minister not only works hard and involves himself in the functioning of the various departments of the government, but inspires his team to work harder than we would have normally. Each one of us, whether the External Affairs Minister, Home Minister or myself, are responsible for each important decision taken by each of one departments. We do not by-pass the Prime Minister who is always available for consultation and guidance. After hearing Shri Rahul Gandhi, I think India has made the right choice between the Prime Minister who leads the Government and a Prime Minister who is merely implementing decisions taken elsewhere.

Shri Rahul Gandhi’s views are shaped by the environment of a political party which has evolved into a ‘cr

Caliphat Movement

It is true that Gandi's great ambition to become mass leader including Muslims made him to lead Caliphat Movement which has no relevance to our freedom struggle. However this nonviolence movement of Gandi was defeated by Britishers resulted more rift between Gandi's and Muslims.

The basic crust of the article is "DIVIDE&RULE" policy of the Europeans(including the British)
They cleverly implemented it without the
knowledge of the victims.

Realising thatIndia can't be ruled thru'
sheer power they found that India's strength
lied in their culture.
they decided to destroy it in a phased manner
which resulted in MACAULAY'S educational system
This successfully fulfilled their(British) aims.
And we shamelessly follow the same system even
today.

the net result is that our people's(Indian) mind and thoughts were corroded completely
which is being reflected in today's incidences
in India

Gandhi's trip to London

I liked the first part of Mr.M.J.Akbar's speech.Eagerly looking for the rest of the parts.
--------
The actions of Gokhale and Gandhi have intrigued me a lot. Gokhale went to South Africa from London and requested Gandhi to return to India in 1913.

Gandhi sent his children to India and set sail from Cape Town on board S.S. Kinfauns Castle in July 1914 to London along with his wife .

What did he do in London?
Whom did he meet there?
What was the reason to go to London when his destination was India?

Were Gokhale and Gandhi being guided by their handlers in London?

Excellent article by M. J. Akbar as he manages to make the history short and interesting without having to interpret its rights and wrongs.

Ability to change according to the situation and ability to see the moral right are two necessary conditions to be fulfilled to achieve greatness.

Adolf Hitler had the first one but not the second, while Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mandela all had both abilities.

Indians today are in the same situation that Gandhi was when thrown out of the coach. Whether they will see the difference between right and wrong ways of doing things will determine whether their country lives on to greatness or disappears into the morass that confronts most Third World societies.
