Failure of security at IAF Airbase Pathankot
by KRISHNA MURTHY on Jan 20, 2016 05:37 PM

The I A F must have their own security personal. The IAF Police personnel are deployed at Main Gate etc., whereas for the protection of other areas Technician, Admn, Accounts etc personnel are deployed. Where as these staff are not meant for security purpose. So IAF Must have their own Security Guards and intelligence Agency

INTEL FAILURE ON INABILITY TO SAFEGUARD OWN ASSETS
by manoj pc on Jan 11, 2016 10:20 PM

Is the call for its own intel wing justified? or it is just an attempt to cover up and divert attention from IAFs failure to protect its own assets. When viewed impartially and critically, that is just what it finally comes down to. A failure on its part to safe guard its assets. Does the IAF expect others to guard its home while it makes tall claims of protecting the homeland? Bravado and boisterous talk of how air power is he key to India's defence in conflict, is all but empty vessels unable to get their own house in order.

everyone needs a specialilst
by Ramesh M on Jan 11, 2016 10:08 PM

Given the way the terrorists are targetting, without making a distinction, every institution worth its existence in this country needs a intelligence wing to safe guard itself.

IAF'S OWN INT SETUP
by kumar iyer on Jan 11, 2016 12:55 PM

Firstly, the inquiry at the Pathankot airbase must be done by the IAF and lessons learnt disseminated. Secondly, there is an urgent need to have a dedicated force for protection of all airbases and IAF asset, not the DSC. Be it from the Army which would be ideal, such a force would releive the IAF Comd at the base to focus on their primary task rather than perimeter protection and internal security.
