Sirs, sirs--with all due regards, let me remind you that an operation like this has not been planned in just six days after the meeting in Pakistan. The operation has been very well planned and it is almost a massive operation. Such an operation will take much more than 6 days to conceive, plan, train, and implement.So -- But our failure is too obvious to be missed and condoned. The question now is "what can India do to salvage the reputation as well as to keep the dialogue going. Virendra
Nothing has been learned from the Mumbai attacks and so many others that followed.
Due to the chalta hai attitude, a major air base was left with security gaps. Inspite of accurate intelligence, it took security forces over 36 hours to end this attack which resulted in heavy casualties.
It seems that once the terrorists entered, they had the time and opportunity to spread out and hide, and plant IEDs in several places.
Questions have to be asked about the training, tactics, co-ordination, communications and equipment given to the security forces. Were they supplied with night fighting equipment and proper body armour? Where they trained and equipped for close quarters combat? Was a proper ambush perimeter set up with cordoning off the operational area so the terrorists would be able to spread out? Were the various units involved given clear mandate about their roles?
Pak wants Kashmir; we do not give. They can not take it by winning a War. So they continue to give you a sleepless night. Solution is destabilise them beyond repair
