Main cities of more than 60 countries celebrates New Year by cracking firecrackers cost of billion dollar. These developed countries spends billions of dollar for a few minutes celebration. But if any Hindu cracks firecracker during the time of Diwali...everybody gives lectures/advise to not to cracks firecrackers and save environment, do not do air pollution, etc... Why they silent now.....??? Is it not a pollution ???

There is no reason why we should seek justification for a bad reason. If it is proper to not to burst crackers at midnight - and give a heart attack to the silent senior citizens and infants - let us do it!! Let us now worry about the mistakes that others do and try to demand equality for the wrong reasons.

I am a Hindu and let me tell you this - there is no tradition of bursting firecrackers anywhere in the scriptures!! So, Chill. Crackers are something that have to be banned. The religion does not matter.

So, what is your point? Are you suggesting that it is OK to burst crackers? Is it your argument that you should have the liberty to burst crackers while so many others in other countries are doing so?

Let us remember that, apart from the air pollution, the sound of the crackers cause so much distress to the sick, old-aged and infants. You have to have someone like this in your home to understand the pain.

If we are all OK with air pollution, then let us atleast stick to sparklers and non-noise fireworks - like the flower-pots, chakkar etc.

Yes..we should strongly BAN all fireworks which only add to the air and noise pollution. It is not a way to celebrate especially in our over-crowded towns and cities.

What about hyderabad?
by Sesshu Sayye on Jan 01, 2016 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

Why always show the firecrackers across the world ? Also show how goons, wagabonds, idiots celebrate across the cities ? How they come on the road, howling, yelling, screaming, rash driving, boozers & how they will make you fear if at all you incidentally or accidentally come on the road ? I feel new year bash is a excuse for all these (above mentioned) people to break all sorts of law & fire crackers on the road not thinking about others. Unfortunately, no policeman seems bothered about the rukoos they create on the roads. Looks like they also fear of getting bashed. India being such a great country, dont know how come these people are let go on this happy day making others fear & teasing others. Sorry to say this, but this is FACT

Absolutely right! People forget civility and make noise without being concerned for those who are peacefully resting. Not all have holidays on 1 Jan, some people may actually be sick wanting rest, some may have just returned from a tiring day at work, some others may have had a tragedy at home - the essence of celebration is to do it without causing any harm to anybody.

Unfortunately, we live in a sadistic society with perverted tastes in celebration.

The worst is the gang of bikers who go about hooting and yelling at the top of their voices. Boozing, rash driving, screaming, loud music, intimidation - there is a complete break-down of culture.

And such nuisance is not only limited to Hyderabad - it also exists in Pune and Mumbai. I think the youth of our country are catching up very fast on "perverted celebration" and are very happy about it.

No one said anything about the pollution when the fire works went off.
