Vajpayee

Present political scene is different o Vajpayee time, Population gone up, indiscipline in public life and hate by congress and its allies vs. BJP is sky high, Modi is in absolute power instead of multi party rule, as such anyone whosoever is comparing it is wrong.
One question-type of situation we have, can Netaji or Gandhiji or even Nehru today win an election.

Different personalities

Good analysis. But both are different personalities! Vajpayee has a more calibrated approach taking many points of view. Modi is straight in his dealings and has empowered all levels (as opposed to the media picture of over centrailzation!) to act and take the bull by its horns. This approach is seen as not only too aggressive but also as a threat by our Kong/Commie leaning intelligentsia and media friends.

I see that the no-nonsense approach of weeding out anti-national sentiment from campuses as a welcome move. But the government needs to cut the nip in the bud the issues like lawyers taking things into their hands and people who go by spurious evidences available in the public domain.

Arvind ji, Vajpayee also calibrated some grave mistakes. Like after the Nuclear tests he declared to No first use policy to the world community which gave free hand to the Pakistan to emit threats freely to India. And Pakistan is not suppose to have any proactive steps from India. In kargil also it is Clinton who forced Pakistan to withdraw and we here celebrate the operation Vijay.
