Tragedy at Murud

The media is playing a bad game. The entire media, esp.the TV channels are only talking about the non-availability of the life guard at the beach. Surely the Govt can't guard the entire coast line. The students must understand the risk involved before entering water and esp. when getting into deeper water. The College administration must ensure that the picnicking students don't take unnecessary risks. That is where the responsibility lies. It is downright unfair to blame the Govt. for everything.

Very true, unless these youngsters stop behaving like monkeys when in group, similar incidents have happened near Mangalore beaches umpteen number of times.

The Murud Janjira beach is notorious as an unsafe swimming spot. Earlier also about 6 student from Chembur were drowned. I do not know if the administration has put up warning boards, restraining people to swim.

Why blame that no guards was there? The incidence is tragic. No doubt about it. But responsibility has to be shouldered by college administration.
