cost of 3600 crores is not possible so cheap for a statue of a state very cheap costing is done for such a great man he deserves spending of at least one laskh crores.
The real estimated cost is one lakh crores with esclation every year in 3600 crores we can only add some land over there and it will take 20 years to built it with many humans will be sacrificed in construction of the stones plus entire government machinery will spend 50 percent of its time in building it and there are thousands of ligitations and permissons required from courts of law
then there will be four governments which will be changing till statue is comeplete

This is as good as dravidian parties' culture in TN. I remember there were about 4/5 statues of British in public places in Chennai prior to 1969 but thereafter we have about at least over a thousand and about a lakh throughout in the state.

But before that you should prove your loyalty to congress by cleaning rah..uls toi..let and lic..king his boots. You will be ready to even do that as cong..iss cul..ture stems from serv..ile bo..nes
THE GOVT OF maharashtra could have restored one of the forts of the king as it was in his time for visitors to understand about the king -- and his way of living and culture -- also MUESEUMS / PICTURE GALLERY AND GARDENS COULD BE Built on one of his forts which are in a state disaster today . INSTEAD a statue is planned in the capital city IN MID OF SEA -- this seems to be a mark of SHOWING OFF - how great we were -- seems a mark of rudeness -- THIS MEMORIAL IS A WASTE OF MONEY -- RAJASHTHAN IS A GOOD EX WHERE THE FORTS ARE PRESERVED by royal families to keep the history alive -- as well as earn some money . and provide work to the common people

Very True.. Might be in Schools, Toilet Building or any other Developement for Nation
Well, I really admire Chatrapati, he is a "hero", but what tell me are the followers following his teachings ? Suddenly when it is Shivaji's birthday, they garland his statue. After that, no one ever even look at the statue, whether does it need any maintenance or not. Do people remember the great leaders / freedom fighters only through their statues ? In every city / village in Maharashtra you will definitely find Sivaji's statue. Still government is thinking to build such a memorial hall by spending public money? These days when people are dying (Thanks to Mr.Modi's demonetization) standing in long queues, cant this money be utilized there? Cant this money be utilized for building flyovers in mumbai ? Cant this money be utilized for building better roads in and around Maharashtra and name those highways as Shivaji Marg ? Same mistakes which were done by earlier state / central governments, is being repeated by Mr.Modi's government. Cant we deserve better policies ? Cant we deserve better standard of living ?
Think Sir. Its public money. People are dying due to lack of water & proper infrastructure. Hope Mr.Modi will revisit this proposal.
Shivaji spend his whole life fighting with the attackers on Hinduism..in his life he built hundred of forts in maharashtra... all of them have water sources and a shelters for people to stay till date.... Fort sindhudurga has sweet water wells amidst the sea, and the only fort in world having Shivajis Palm prints and a Temple where his statue is worshiped daily and dresses are changed...all other forts builtup across maharashtra is neglected or under developed due to negligence of Politicians or Govt dept. In addition to this Shivajis dream fort near Mumbai at Underi fort close to Alibaug and the present Smarak location is in bad condition which can be develop easily.....and our CM and all other agencies are going to spend Rs.3600 crs....should we pay taxes for such stupidity ?
