Fighting corruption is welcome, of course, but.......
by piri on Dec 26, 2016 12:03 AM  | Hide replies

what is the point if someone who proclaims that he is going to fight corruption avoids fighting or even goes on to protect the most corrupt ??

The biggest black money hoarders in India don't hoard their black money in cash !

And they don't need to invest in real estate or gold to launder it !

They have more sophisticated methods such as round tripping from tax havens abroad (with which India has double taxation avoidance treaties) !!

And it is this loophole that Adani, Ambani, Ruias, Dhoot, etc use to avoid paying a large chunk of the corporate taxes they should actually be paying !

And it is from such huge laundered income that parties such as the BJP and the Congress receive huge donations to fund their very expensive election campaigns across India !

In 2014, the BJP spent a record 12000 crore rupees for its LS election campaign. But it declared an expenditure of only Rs. 700 crores to the election campaign !

And after coming to power, Modi has been doing his best in extricating Gautam Adani from a potentially very dangerous case he is embroiled in for laundering a sum of Rs. 5468 crores using a single P Note mode of investment !

How can such a man (Modi) and such a party (BJP) claim to have any moral right to say they are going to fight corruption and black money ???

All political parties speak as they know they do not have to honor it. The People knows the parties does no intend to do what they promise. This is the ongoing cycle in India.

what a joke - inform us in advance before raiding
by chetan rana on Dec 25, 2016 08:01 PM

ha ha !! you want to be informed in advance about the the raid so that you can inform all and cover up everything ??
you political class are expert in protecting your own back in a very good way and making everyone else suffer and blame everyone else except yourself for the same. the raid must have an element of surprise to get the maximum result out of it.do you think the guy would cooperate if you tell him in advance about the raid at his place ? obviously not.
grow up- get some common sense.

Nobody believes the other man really but says that he believes the other man only as a mark of etiquette. The T.N. Govt. owes an answer to the state as to how it's selection process has failed that there is one such CScum VC who gets arrested for extreme wrong doing. How the T.N.couldn't a smell of it when the I.T department has known it.Big question marks arise. They deserve an answer first.R.PONNAMBALAM

make a truly comic pair, don't they ??

One a dynasty clown and the other a development clown !

Both make comic speeches, comic gestures, comic statements to the press and keep at it without having any idea of their limitations in understanding complex issues such as many aspects of the economy, human development, equitable development, preservation of the environment, sustainable development, etc !!

They make a truly comic pair indeed !

Truly made for one another !

the centre has the power but it did not do 'anything' as you said. It caught a thief you was your lieutenant who has brought shame on the state and its government and the act has stung you only because of the result -- not the act itself; that is why you are scowling.

Then Mr. Papayya , you are not familiar with the ways and processes of the government and its officers. The plans are worked out in the office itself , whether for public welfare or private good. Just recall , so many bureaucrats and their cronies were arrested from the very seats and cabins which they occupied in government buildings.
