It is quite clear that the bank officials are deeply involved in such transactions.

That brings the total

amount of black money caught by the IT / ED departments to Rs. 192 crores in various raids in the last one month !

Vow, what a catch !!

Oh, just don't think about the fact that this amount or even much bigger amounts can be flushed out by the IT department in any given period of one month, demonetization or no demonetization !!

Oh, just don't think about the fact that Narendra Modi himself had said repeatedly on and after November 8th that he does not expect more than Rs. 10 to 11 lakh crores (out of the total Rs. 14 lakh crores) in 500 and 1000 rupee notes in circulation to get deposited in the banks by 30th December (the remaining Rs. 3 to 4 lakh crores that wouldn't get deposited being black money, of course) !

Oh, just don't think about the fact that the RBI has declared that Rs. 12.7 lakh crores (out of 14.4 lakh crores) in 500 and 1000 rupee notes has been deposited back in the banks as of 14th December !

Oh, just don't think about the fact that the Narendra Modi government, realizing that much more than 10 or 11 lakh crores would get deposited, suddenly announced the 50 % tax on *unaccounted* money in banks to save face !

And of course, just don't think about the fact that to save face, the Modi government has to identify Rs. 6 lakh crores out of the Rs. 12 to 14 lakh crores deposited back as black money so that, the 50 % tax on it would match the Rs. 3 lakh crores black money it had so confidently announced would not come back !!

Just forget all about those lakhs of crores of rupees in black money that Komaaaaali Modi was so confident will not come back to the banks and focus on the Rs. 192 crores caught by the IT department in the past one month !

What a fantastic victory over black money !!

Catching of new Rs.2000 notes
by msubramanian tdr on Dec 15, 2016 10:40 PM  | Hide replies

Common man after standing in the queue for 2 hours is getting just one or two new 2000 rupee notes. How come these hoarders are getting new notes in bundles? Accountability of officials, Banks concerned, their chairmen, RBI officials and Ministry concerned is warranted. Whatsoever the money caught is based on tip off. Then one can imagine about the un-caught money. Common man is totally annoyed on the present scenario.

Yes. "Commin" man is annoyed because his bundles of 1000 and 500 Rs notes are becoming useless. :-)
Common man is also annoyed that tax thieves are being caught. Nice common man. Nice. :-)
