It is not really as bad as the photographs make it look
by janga sridhar on Aug 31, 2016 09:56 PM

It is not really as bad as the photographs make it look. 95% of Hyderabad is safe with no water logging.
5% of low lying areas or where roads were constructed with no proper drainage or at railway line underpass there has been water logging.
This article just makes it look as if etire Hyderabad is drowning and water logged.

Hyderabad is 500 m above sea level and the soil is such that it absorbs water easily. Even if rains 50cms in 24rhs. 80% HYD will be above water.

Forget Bengaluru or Gurugram. Come to Noida/Gr.Noida.
by Ramendra Sinha on Aug 31, 2016 04:40 PM

MNCs and IT Companies are shifting to Noida and Greater Noida due proximity to National Capital and being the capital city, it does not discriminate people from other states or languages unlike the regional metros. It has built excellent infrastructure, expressways, metros and 2nd International airport of Delhi is coming up in Noida District. Both Akhilesh and Mayawati are competing to develop Noida even more and irrespective of who comes to power post UP elections next year, the area is going to witness tremendous growth in coming 5 years time. Noida/Greater Noida may develop past Gurugram in coming 5 to 10 years due to excellent urban planning and political will of Akhilesh and Mayawati.

Disgusting
by PK Sagar on Aug 31, 2016 03:31 PM

The spectacle in Delhi, Gurgaon and Hyderabad is disgusting to put it mildly. Just 15.2 mm of rain in the country's capital can ruin everything. Shame on our town planners and shame on our Government. Let these people get down to basics and tell them to stop talking of bullet trains and satellites

It is the right time all People of India need to support joining all rivers how ever difficult it is. Other wise people are dying because of drought in one place and drowning condition in other. Modi ji, it can be done by you only. Can you ? for the sack of poor Indians who still have faith on the current politicians.

Rubbish , if so little rain can cause havoc we don't even deserve to be called a developing country. Hardly any rain and we talk of flooding. We don't even have reasonable drainage system. And do you know the cost and human misery that the river linking project can cause. It will be unheard off in the history of the world

It appears to have subsided a bit now. Roads from Secunderabad, Begumpet to Banjara traffic was as normally as it used to be. Cantonment area I found was normal. Low lying are of Vidyanagar, VST & RTC roads are bad !
