If it was written speech, then the commas, period, colons etc. are easily understood. But if the same is spoken a listener cannot distingiush where coomma is placed or the period was placed. Bhagat Singh and Rajguru were hanged, Mahatama Gandhi was assassinated, Subash Bose is still a mystry. Others died of oldage or illness. So simple clarification would have sufficed.
