best example of cooperative federalism" and "Together we will take India to new heights of progress". This could have been done earlier also by asking cooperation with MPs of all parties as done now. Better late than never

Tamil Nadu people are already happy with their boost and free idli so they walked out. As a manufacturing hub of auto ancilary TN would get more benefit. But economics and freebies do not go together. So their MPs walked out.

During 2005 it was initiated and it was opposed by developed/developing states or in other words those states which got more revenues thru manufacturing sectors. It was opposed by Maharashtra, TN, Karnataka and then Gujarat. The biggest loser was Maharashtra and TN. However TN & Maharashra was willing as they were with the ruling party then. The present incumbent of TN always bothers about their rival here in TN, despite the bill has provision for making good their losses. Also I would like to add TN has not only Auto hub it has large number of industries of small/medium/big size, next to Maharashtra.
