Modi has no worries . he is comfortable with RSS and its Patriotic fervour , however Communists and their power monger friends are worrying. These Communists they never condemned the Totalitarian State Russia who sent lakhs of people to Siberia to die. nor they ever Criticized Chinese Dictators who amassed wealth , though they were communist. The failure of the Universal adult Franchise is the cause of the current state in this country. If not with formal degrees if every electorate is well informed, scientifically thinking/analysing things in this modern era, able to distinguish between the goodness and badness of policies and actions of the Govt they will always elect a good ruler. India's real curse is the hero worshipping and 'easily appeased with promises and pittances type' of majority electorates. The author is still in the world of of theoretical communism and socialism which are failed systems. If everybody is given the same consideration irrespective of their ability, contribution and drive, what will induce people and society to excel. This is the major failure of these 2 egalitarian impracticable ideologies.

Please don't knock universal adult franchise. This is how people were always meant to live - under authorities who the people themselves had brought to power.
You deplore the lack of education among the electorate as a failure of universal adult franchise. I ask you, if adult franchise were taken away, why would any regime spend efforts on improving education and welfare ? You talk as if there has been no improvement in the situation of people since we became a democracy. Any look at the published numbers would show that we have improved from an awful situation that the british left us in.
Again, adult franchise makes many of our basic rights complete - our freedom to speak our minds, to ask questions; is so that we can persuade others to vote for the good of all.
And these is another saying - show me a person who despises democracy,and I will show you someone who hates the demos, (the people).

My suggestion is that you spend the same effort (that you just now made attacking MY right to vote) on persuading people to vote for better politicians, or even putting yourself forward as the better politician.
I'm not a supporter of RSS, but this is a very negative and biased article. Shame on such writers, and also rediff for allowing such articles. The sole purpose of this article seems to defame RSS.

If the intention is bad then the article will certainly will be unpalatable and your reaction is justified. If it gets implemented then how bad the whole country will feel.
