Had MDMK allied with DMK atleast 90% of their contestants inclusive of Vijayakanth might have chances of becoming MLAs but Vijayakanth's political career would end. Thinking of that he allied with a smaller group - but the chances of winning is remote. DMDK party men seems to have alliance with DMK expecting that at least they would win whereas it seems to be indefinite now and hence many partymen are agitating. I observed, having alliance with People Welfare Party, DMDKs vote percentage might erode atleast by one percent - but after this infight it may erode still more. All politicians are ambitious for gaining power to earn.
anyways captain knows this will happen. had he joined dmk, he would been seen as opportunistic politician who switches alliances every election. Had he aligned with dmk, they would have ensured that DMDK will be split in long term if not immediately. who can forget how DMK killed TMC during late 90's in which they fielded their own candidates and aligning with ADMK and MDMK in local body election just to ensure TMC does not develop grass root connection with people. Also they indirectly opposed Moopanar from becoming a PM which would created a power center for TMC in Tamil Nadu. All these DMK will do for DMDK even if the they align with them after some time. It's better the Vijayakanth can focus how to face such people rather than become a puppet of a big brother.

When there is no specific hint, how could you blame DMK. Why cant it be from a silent leader. You cannot judge any person who does not open the mouth while it is easy to judge who opens his mouth wide.
