I have no sympathy for Pachauri, who regularly gets his face lifted to woo females. Yet, Pachauri detractors and the lawyers engaged by them have been working overtime to sustain a case built on circumstantial, ex-post-facto, hearsay-imbued “evidence”. Knowing that Indian witnesses would be torn to shreds by the savagely clever counsel bound to be deployed by Pachauri, the antagonistic lawyers are now producing “European” attestants, including the one reported about, whose account is suspiciously in a variety of English written by Indian lawyers. This Janie-come-lately accuser (who claims to have been jiggled out of retrograde amnesia several months after reading a newspaper report on Pachauri’s peccadilloes) is also a potential witness in the pending case. Overseas accusers are handy, for they can always avoid appearing in an Indian court pleading all kinds of difficulties, and thus escape direct cross-examination. Media-persons have to be careful in sifting out sponsored (and severely belated) testimony from hard, legally sustainable facts.

Reminds me of a Bob Hope gag: An 80-year old man was accused by a nubile lass of rape. He was so grateful, that he pleased guilty.
There may be another 30 or perhaps more who may have chosen to keep quiet out of fear.
This guy must have been very powerful.
Must be enjoying the privilege of protection from someone strong and powerful.
These kinds of males have a misconception that anybody and everybody is available.
The law must swiftly get them and asharamize them before they wd make further adventures to prove their malehood and a false sense of an unwholesome propriety.
Does any one wonder how long these cases drag on ?The case drags on the accused continues in his job.Remember the Tehelka case in Goa?What happened in that case?

Exactly!! How long this can drag on? Either all the girls and ladies who are complaining are wrong!! Or Pachauri is a great grand father figure that he puts his hand around waist or send messages of all kind? What's the court concerned doing?

It takes a long time and tactful handling in the court proceedings. It can even boomrang when money and power work in tandem. Courts want firm evidence. It is often absent. The rascals go scotfree. Become more confident.
Though we all are against one sided law only protecting women at the cost of men prestige, but appears that some thing wrong with Pachauri-since it is IIIrd consecutive case against him.

He seems to be a habitual offender of such crime also it seems some big wig has been protecting him this long.. this angle should also be probed.
