A team consisting of the Structural designers of national standing, with the team of eminent Civil Engineers should be constituted, each one should submit short report independently, which should be discussed in a bigger forum to reach at conclusion of reasons of mishap. Was the structure not supported firmly?
From the picture of the damaged pier it is clear that there is a gross problem with the manufacture of it. Or there is an unusual increase of span before or after the pier. The piers or structures are made from special high tensile steel which looks like ordinary steel but can carry almost 50 percent more tensile strength. The way the arms of the piers are buckled strongly suggests material failure due to improper material and may be lower thickness material is used. Unfortunately in any government inspection, the inspectors mostly rely on papers, they rarely go and make the random check. Although in this case it is impossible to distinguish visually mild steel and high tensile steel. If the relevant parts of the pier are tested the truth would come out very soon. Apparently fault lies on the supplier of the pier.
What about soil testing for each pillar. Design may vary according to the local condition. Secondly was the Contractor was doing the work without Government or Corporation supervision? Any one checking it and giving OK to proceed is 100% responsible.
Only our system is responsible, no one bothered about general public. Why did they not cover the area during construction??? After incident Neta/Politician told action will be taken, investigation is going on. Where and what about previous incident????? In India hundred of such incident is happening and investigation is going on last 60 years, we will forget all and busy for voting and elected culprits/antisocial/criminals/rapist then how our system will change...
When a bridge or fly over is opened or during any parties regime, MP's and MLA's are praising that " such nos of bridges and flyovers are constructed in their period" but when such incident happens, MP's are telling that how can they take such blame. when you are ready to take the benifits, then you must take the blame, or you should be double carefull that nothing happens like this. IF any ruling political leadrs kith and kin got struck in this accident, will they react in the same way?
In Govt. working no one is responsible, on papers always whosoever in private sector performs is responsible, Govt. servants - no responsibility, Politicians-no responsibility, Judicial/Police-no responsibility. Those who died-pay them out of taxes collected, let people suffer-this is our system.
One Vemula hangs him, It is central Govt, rather PMO, one Ikhlaq dies, it is Modi, One Pawan Narang dies, nobody, hundreds of persons dies, nobody. and there are hundreds of such incident happening in India , where NOBODY is the main culprit. But we are happy with this. It is not political parties, it is we who gives our political masters to score points for nothing. WE have fix responsibility within ourselves before pointing fingers.
