Kashmir and the Indo-Pak war of 1965
by sushil khanna on Sep 22, 2015 06:05 PM

Congress, especially the Nehruvian ideology, have messed up the sub-continent. We lost the tactical advantage during the post 1970-71 war-period and lost the opportunity to permanently dimember Pakistan , or at least they could be put into a state of coma, as far as Kashmir was concerned.

1965 war

It is the Congress' practice to give credit to the P M if it is a victory. But in case of defeat, the Defence Minister is made the scapegoat. 1962 war's debacle saw the then Raksha Mantri Krishna Menon steppuing down as Nehru refused to take the blame. But, the victory in 1971 war was credited to Indira, and not to the then Defence Minister Jagjivan Ram.

Pakistan is our neighbor with whom we have had to fight three wars. A politician might have said something out of frustration when they shot down a civilian Plane carrying an Indian Minister.
But it shows journalism in poor light when something that the Minister said, in part, is used as the title.

DID we have another PM or even a politician like him. HE was indeed the most singular prime minister we had and will never have one like him. Alas neither the governments in the past nor present seem to know who LAL BAHADUR SASTRY was. This is the greatest tragedy. We are made to believe that our PMs were Nehru, Indira and Rajiv. It begins and ends with Nehru Gandhi family. It will not be long before Robert Vadhera becomes Robert Gandhi so that their child will take the Gandhi surnam, since Rahul is not married and he will not have a child to rule this country.
