After the govt has given OROP, what else do these servicemen want ? Now this is pure greed. They r just losing the faith of the people the longer the continue this agitation.
The govt seems to change its tune on OROP and go back on its word every day on every occasion. Contrasting statements are being issued by RM FM and PM. Also a deliberate delay in issuing the govt letter is what is causing concern among the ex servicemen. The govt should be gracious and address the concerns, if it were an increase in the MPs perks pay and allowances these are issued the same day. Why should the govts letter take 6 months to issue? Why should there be doubts about premature retirement if the PM himself has agreed? Surely these are grave concerns to people who have been denied their due for more than 40 years, people who gave there everything for the country, warriors and widows. Also the bureaucrats have behaved in a corrupt manner giving themselves OROP by underhand means and denying the military who are entitled. There is a trust deficit and the ex servicemen are wary of other tricks which the secretaries to the govt may play!

It does not matter numbers, but their cause. See their average of life and what they have done to motherland during their prime of their life. Government authorities must listen to them and settle to their satisfaction. Otherwise, the scar will remain. Otherwise, what is the meaning of patriotism? Top leaders agreed for OROP. But, who is denying ? Let them explain their national interests, issues, difficulties for denying, accepted commitments.
