MNS and Sena defy BJP supported bab
by Pradip Shah on Sep 12, 2015 08:00 PM  | Hide replies

This is nothing but hypocracy of Shiv Sena, NNS to protest against ban of selling non. Veg during Jain festivals. The most of Maharashtrian voluntary stop eating non veg foods during the holy month of Shravan and during the time they have Ganpati at their place till the day of immersion. Shiv Sena and MNS always oppose Muslims but here indirectly they support them as most of the butchers who supply them mutton so and chicken come from this community. Will Sena and MNS would like to have mutton and chicken selling stalls near Ganesh Pandals or near their Temple ? Atleast Sena should consider the sentiments of minority's like Jains who has stood by them with them and has given maximum seats in parliament which they never imagined even in their dreams in the name of pure vegetarian PM Modi.MNS is totally rejected by the people of Maharashtra and gave only one seat out of 199 seats in last assembly election. The same performance may be repeated in next municipal election if they don't stop their arrogance, threats and intimidating tactics as usual against people other than Marathi speaking people.

MNS has been always behaving like a goon. No wonder he does not want to abide by lawful orders approved even by Courts. Shiv Sena is after all the mother of MNS!

MNS was useless and gave only speeches that's why people rejected them, but BJP is also not a saint, they should not dictate the eating habits of people just to satisfy the so called sentiments of Jain people. This is a very bad trend that they are setting of appeasement of minorities which Congees done for last 60 years for Mozlims now BJP is doing for Jains and Gujjus.

I agree that there should not be such ban and Jains should not think they are special than others. Each communities should better mind their own business and atleast should keep politicians out of their issues. The other way section of political parties some of whom think they are the massing of others and protect them should clear this wrong impression from their mind and should very well know that they are not the landlords of entire Mumbai city and all people are their tenants.

It should read as " Massiah " instead of " massing ".

They claimed to be a sole representative of Marathi speaking people of Mumbai and Maharashtra without realising that every one has rejected them in the last election and has seen the worst ever poll performance in last election by getting only one seat out of 199 seats contested out of most of candidates lost their deposit and the voters of Mumbai city totally rejected them by not giving them even one seat.

All parties are doing vote bank politics for municipal elections
by Hindustani on Sep 12, 2015 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

This is a pure vote bank politics by ALL parties and people from all religions should understand this.

1)First of all there was no need for BJP to increase 4 days ban on meat selling to 9 days. That clearly showed that they are eying the Jain vote bank. Nobody could and must not detect on what people should eat and what they should not eat. India ( fortunately and at least till now!!! )is not like some Muzlim country where some selected bunch of fanatic people would detect the livings, habits, lifestyle and culture of people. Ban ( except the things which are banned by law like drugs) on whatever things and which ever way is highly condemnable in our country which we proudly say as worlds largest democracy.

2) Secondly, there was need either for other
parties like congress, SS, MNS, RSP and others to blow up this issue to such a level that it fells as if this is the single most serious and critical issue in entire Mumbai and Maharashtra. They are trying to give this issue the colour of fight between the two communities that is Hindus Vs Jains/ Muslim Vs Jains/ or Maharashtrians Vs Jains or Gujrati's. Which is very very dangerous for disturbing the social fabric of our society.

There are many more critically serious problems exists in Maharashtra than this like , Shattering dry drought in major parts of Maharashtra, increasing suicide by farmers, shortage of water, Sky high and unaffordable prices of basic items of food such as cereals, onions etc.

unnecessary increase in service taxes, inexplicable rates of public transport system even though there have been steep decrease in crude oil prices, unaffordable housing rates, Increasing crimes on women, unsafe atmosphere for women travelling alone, crimes on elderly people, increasing cases of robberies, thefts , looting of houses, car and bike thefts, chain snatchings etc.,
Increasing intolerant attitude towards RTI activists, rationalists, social activists and increasing cases of fatal attacks on them.
There are n'th number of such critical problems, issues exists for a common man which blow up his mind than such vote bank politics drama created by these parties.
Instead of creating such drama on this "making mountain of a molehill" issue , the opposition parties should pressurise the government on above mentioned critical issues which are related to the lives of common man.

Indians should keep away
by piri on Sep 11, 2015 08:39 PM

and be kept away from non-vegetarian food because they are, in general, just too dirty to handle it !

While veg food, if not cleaned properly, can lead to ingestion of residues of dirt, pesticides, fertilisers and organic waste, Non-veg food, if similarly handled, can lead to more severe health issues.

It is better that Indians take the less risky path by eating only dirty vegetarian food !

Non-vegetarian food should be banned in India

altogether because Indians in general are too unhygienic to handle it !

B S Raghavan is a reasonably well known man. He was once the director of the CBI and had been one of the more distinguished among IPS officers.

After retirement, he took up several assignments, one of which was as the head of the SIT investigating Narendra Modis culpability in exhorting his police officers not to intervene in the *backlash* of Hyndus against Muxlims during the 2002 Gujarat riots.

He is also a regular contributor in several publications. Chiefly, his pieces dwell on the police and policing in India. However, he also gives his observations and opinion on several other topics of social relevance.

In Nov 2012, he wrote a column in the Business Line that severely ridiculed Indians for being some of the filthiest people on earth. Giving several examples, he illustrated how many among even the educated upper class Indians are little better than their poor or illiterate countrymen when it comes to personal hygiene or in civic sense.

He stated that kitchens in India (all or most public kitchens and a very large segment of home kitchens) are, in general, maintained very untidily and rarely convey a wholesomeness so necessary for food prepared in them to look appetizing !

He also commented on the tendency of a very large section of Indians - possibly the great majority - to ignore many norms of safe and clean eating.

It is very easy to see that handling non-vegetarian food requires more

care and application since cleaning it thoroughly before cooking requires more labour. Due to the same reason, non-vegetarian food cooked in all or most hotels and restaurants in India (and in a majority of homes, I dare say) is almost invariably unfit to eat.

If non-veg food somehow gets banned in India in its entirety, it would be difficult for anyone to ridicule Indians for being unclean at least on one count !

Sena/ MNS are right..
by Suresh Tenvillage on Sep 11, 2015 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

Don't impose anything to the public. India is free country let them follow their customs and way of life. Whoever has done this has damaged the image of BJP and Modi.

Maharashtra CM has been thrusted upon the Maharashtrians by RSS. He is quite immature and doesn't contain the situation as it should be.
