As per normal Norms Defence Spending Should be 25% of GDP. But India Spent Less than 5% on Defence. We win wars meerly on Soldier Braverly and not on advance technology even today. We should learn from West see how they prosper and use military to the fullest of best of their national interest.

I think it should be 48% of GDP. Whoch should progressively increase to 66%. That will be good for India.

OROP

How about the ballooning employee costs of central & state governments? every-time a pay commission is appointed only the salary hike part is accepted, no accountability. The author has forgotten lakhs of private sector employees who are getting a pittance as family pension, and no one really cares for them

Ajai Shukla seems to be the most worried man about the rising pension costs of the Armed Forces. If he is so concerned, he should forego the OROP benefits himself.
