Ms Olga Tellis as a journalist
by Ramamurthy Venkateswaran on Oct 25, 2015 10:20 AM

I read the writings of a few journalists and I thoroughly enjoyed their writing. Since I love the Hindu newspaper published from Chennai, there used to be a senior journalist by name Titus, whose writings on the political developments would not only provide a reader of the situation and likely developments. Shri MJ Akbar, and a few other journalists are surely an asset to journalism. Unfortunately, I am disillusioned on seeing some of the debates moderated by persons in Times Now, NDTV, etc. For example, the way Shri Arnab Goswami behaves with leaders like Shri Narendra Modi, late Bal Thackeray, etc. and compare it with his behaviour in moderating the panel discussions with others. It is a monologue, as Shri Goswami doesn\'t permit to air their views, if they are different from his. Similar is the traits of the journalists in such news channels. While covering some live action, some of the journalists have gone down so much and ask field journalists such questions showing total immaturity on their part. After reading a write up on Olga Tellis, it revives memory of the yesteryears. I wonder whether we would get such journalists in times to come. Although Mark Tuly could be a BBC journalist, still I love his contributions. Read Dilip Padgaonkar, who seems to be wedded to Congress party. As Olga tells that Maharashtra produced such fine human beings as leaders, could she tell a few words about the Shiv Sena, MNS, NCP, BJP, Congress leaders?

Wonderful article!!!! Though I am not a Jurnalist, I belong to that age. As a reader, listener (radio) & viewer, I could relate to these changes. I often wonder where are those Jurnalists!!!!!!!!!
Ms. Olga Tellis - Please try to bring back the old school of journalism.

I not only endorse but fortify yr contention.Maybe some may term Doordarshan as biased in favour of Govt. But then don't expect negative news. Positive News is always welcome. e.g. 9PM Zee news by Sudhir.
