Russia may have a policy that does not fit into the the scheme of the US. But the US is totally confused about the Middle East. First they helped Afghan rebels fight the Russians and helped the formation of Taliban. They messed up big-time in Iraq giving rise to the mayhem that is still continuing. They ostracize Iran and because Iran is Shia and the Syrian President is also Shia, they attack Syria and help the ISS. What an unholy mess! Now they sit in judgement of the Russians!

Dear Radhakrishnan, You are absolutely right. The US has a totally confusing policy about Middle East and has made enemies in all countries from North Africa to Pakistan.
