Non-vegetarian food should be banned in India

altogether because Indians in general are too unhygienic to handle it !

B S Raghavan is a reasonably well known man. He was once the director of the CBI and had been one of the more distinguished among IPS officers.

After retirement, he took up several assignments, one of which was as the head of the SIT investigating Narendra Modis culpability in exhorting his police officers not to intervene in the *backlash* of Hyndus against Muxlims during the 2002 Gujarat riots.

He is also a regular contributor in several publications. Chiefly, his pieces dwell on the police and policing in India. However, he also gives his observations and opinion on several other topics of social relevance.

In Nov 2012, he wrote a column in the Business Line that severely ridiculed Indians for being some of the filthiest people on earth. Giving several examples, he illustrated how many among even the educated upper class Indians are little better than their poor or illiterate countrymen when it comes to personal hygiene or in civic sense.

He stated that kitchens in India (all or most public kitchens and a very large segment of home kitchens) are, in general, maintained very untidily and rarely convey a wholesomeness so necessary for food prepared in them to look appetizing !

He also commented on the tendency of a very large section of Indians - possibly the great majority - to ignore many norms of safe and clean eating.

It is very easy to see that handling non-vegetarian food requires more care and application since cleaning it thoroughly before cooking requires more labour. Due to the same reason, non-vegetarian food cooked in all or most hotels and restaurants in India (and in a majority of homes, I dare say) is almost invariably unfit to eat.

If non-veg food somehow gets banned in India in its entirety, it would be difficult for anyone to ridicule Indians for being unclean at least on one count !

Mr. Azam Khan, UP Assembly Minister issue
by Ramanarao Kallepally on Oct 04, 2015 08:30 PM  | Hide replies

Mr.Azam Khan , Minister of UP Assembly has born with controversial remarks every time, he has no control upon his tongue, which will certainly click against his remarks one day or other, every politician will not tolerate in India, what he thinks himself, he should stop such remarks hence forth which will give kick back in future , keeping in mind that UP assembly elections are also very near, other wise the reputation of Shri Mulayam Singh's family members will go in the nip in the bud, like of Lalu Prasad relations in the recent elections.
