What is the "impact assessment factor" of the impact of liquor-bars, drug trafficking and newly appeared illegal (migrant) black-African calamity over the Goan coastal horizon? Are these better than this so called U-turn?
Parrikar was to keep Dabolim for civilian aircraft and not pursue on mopa. Request were even made to make the navy to give more land so as to widen the existing airport at Dabolim so as to meet the rising air-traffic. Request were also than made to shift the navy down to Sea-bird project near karwar. But this allotment of land for conducting Defence exhibitions is a bolt out of the blue for tiny Goan state that has very little land for its own inhabitants and such vast projects will leave no land for our future generations to reside. Goan land is being allotted to huge projects like mopa in the north, Rahejas in carmona south, marina in zuari - sancoale bay etc. Due to the looting and mess created by congress, people gave clear mandate to BJP under parrikar expecting him to redress their grievances. But parrikar the man whom I thought was a smart man to deliver us out of the mess and corruption, only turned out to be a smart liar who made U-Turns on several important issues and fooled goans. Goans are peace loving but when pushed to the wall, they will in unison without any difference of creed, caste, race, status, etc fight tooth and nail against whatever Goliath's that come to torment them.
Parrikar had publicly promised, when he was Chief Minister three years ago, that no more Goa land would be handed over to the Center. That means he made a mistake when he was the CM. Goa is small tourist spot if military take over then tourist will be out. Parrikar should have thought of this before making statement why he always days that is a mystery. I mean U turn. He is in habit see OROP, Military Pakistan vessel at Gujarat etc etc What a minister we want to advise him he should first make his homework and talk. U U turns creates problems for Modi very sad.
When he had thundered these dialogues he was CM of Goa and in centre it was UPA Government - now the tables have turned and he is both in Goa & Centre and anything is right in their sight.
The Defense minister is creating a permanent venue for Defence exhibition. Will improve the image and stature of Goa. he has not gifted it or sold it to construction firms for a profit.
The heading of the article misleads the people. The Defense Minister is not grabbing land for himself. IF he is trying to shift the defense exhibition to goa it it good and the land is being given Ministry of defense.

The headline is factually accurate, it's your reading ability that needs fixing. Parrikar's government has done yet another u-turn in Goa from their election manifesto. Nothing that he and his party haven't done before.
