On the myth of the BJP govt being against big time corruption.
by piri on Nov 22, 2015 02:06 PM  | Hide replies

It is repeated ad nauseam by many and by Modi himself that the current govt at the centre has *reversed* the trend of scams in government and that, unlike during the UPA regime, there have been no scams since Modi came to power in 2014.

Now, this claim overlooks the fact that all the scams during the UPA regime were unearthed only from the 7th year of its reign onwards!

This is because scandals are only discovered after the auditing cycle is over and if the auditor is there in place.

And, very pertinently, in the first year of the Modi government, crucial institutions set up to reign in corruption like the CVC and the CIC did not practically function! How can anyone expect any information to come out?

At least these bodies were allowed to be alive and well during the UPA rule.

If these watchdog institutions are not working and if the appointment of key persons are delayed, how can any scam come out?

The past records of corruption of both the Congress and the BJP are terrible but currently the focus must be on the BJP because it came to power on promises of reducing corruption but have effectively done no better till date.

If one judges this government by what it promised and its rhetoric, then of course nothing has come out from it and it is a joke.

Besides, the Modi govt is one of the most unashamedly anti-farmer governments in the last 2-3 decades. It is one of the most anti-ecology and anti-environment governments that have probably ever been witnessed.

And added to all the play in the shadows in the above manner, the Modi government has been refusing to provide the requested information in many RTI applications by rejecting and returning them under flimsy technical grounds ! This is something the earlier UPA govt, even at the height of its authority in 2009 and 2010, did not do.

Why should the BJP govt ask its officers to return RTI queries giving flimsy excuses if it is not for the purpose of hiding information ?

by kaladhara saralaya on Nov 21, 2015 05:21 PM  | Hide replies

In Bihar history is created by Shri Arvind Kejriwal, when he hugged Shri Lalu Yadav, the man who was termed by Arvind during Anna Movement as "Monument of Corruption". !!
This is the real Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP founder, who had termed all Politicians as corrupt. He will do anything to conquer power.
He had sworne on his son duing his first tenure and now hugs and joins hands with the UPA, representing Himalaya of Corruption.
Shemeless and power hungry man on Display in Delhi.

For all those who voted for the Mahagathbandhan will now realize that it is actually Mahasankatbandhan. It will be a Bihari remake of the days of JD coalition with Deve Gowda as the PM. Just sit back and watch the fun

That will be done, what will not be done is a guesstimate of the life of this coalition. Nitish has effectively shot himself in the foot.

nothing puzzling friends....if something is done, then, Laloo will take the credit. If something is not done, then, Modi will be blamed by Nitish. In between Laloo will always be a "WELL (water filled) wisher" for Nitish. He'd bellow with Nitish-"see, my friend Nitish is trying to do better things for you (Bihar) but, Modi is not supporting....."

Nitis is the looser

What Nitis gained. Now he is 2nd class in the MG. Days are not far when Lalu's Lalas, the Dy-CM & the 3rd in line would start detecting. This is your development plank? Your CM-ship is now short-lived.

Absolutely second this...The laloo brigade will not allow Nitish beyond this term (at the max) in power. He won't be allowed to do anything which enhances his figure among the populous. It just a prank to be involved in every activity sector of Bihar. Bihar Oh Bihar...you are kidsnapped by Laloo Dynasty. Some educated open-minded unprejudiced without ulterior motives- head of the state a vital necessity of states like Bihar, UP, Tamil Nadu, J&K, Punjab, Haryana and WB apart from Eastern States. That's the only hope to intellectual freedom of the people there.

So, you tacitly admit that if Kejri and Lalu do not falter the chances of re-election of Mr. Modi is dim. Do not so easily lose your heart.
