Racial abuse in India
by Nandakumar Konkar on Nov 19, 2015 11:58 AM

Th incident given in above article needs to be condemned, but here is my experience: I was in Pune & it came upon me to show around in Pune to our French guest. As we entered a musuem in the heart of Pune city, a man appeared & racially abused our French guest in unspeakable Marathi! Made me ashamed of being Indian. Surely racism isn't a one way street & it needs to be tackled in every form . Good to hear that efforts are being made to sensitise students in this US university. What's being done in Mera Mahaan Bharat? Zilch!

Excuse me for saying this.. but why so much hype over racial slurs in the US?? Dont we racially slur our own people based on colour, caste, creed, religion, language etc, etc right here in India. Who are we to preach and act holier than thou!! We are the most hypocritical society on earth!!!!

for the PIO community in the west to imagine that it can someday manage to finally be treated by their white hosts as true equals in every sense !

Back in India from where the PIOs hail from, discrimination based on caste identities (which draw their strength from what the caste protagonists think are raxcial distinctions) is all too widespread and well entrenched in the psyche of the people. And hilariously, people who discriminate against their supposed lower caste brethern would like to believe in their heart of hearts that they are raxcially distinct from the former !!

This fact is hilarious chiefly because the great majority of those who believe they are raxcially or caste wise *superior* to others have more or less the same skin colour and raxcial features their *inferior* countrymen have !!

And these very same people, who believe in earnest that they are *superior* to their lower caste countrymen (though they are more or less equally dark in skin complexion and have the same rotund negrxito draxvidian features) start wanting the raxcially very very distinct and very different whites in America to consider them as equals and not show any discrimination against them when they land up there in pursuit of a better living than what their caste haven motherland would afford them !!

If hypocrisy has to embody itself as a human, then it might easily and naturally choose to do so as an Indian !
