MOEFCC needs to be fair.
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Nov 19, 2015 06:52 PM

Vinuta Gopal says : " In Madhya Pradesh we saved the Mahan forest from being destroyed.

This was a coal block for Essar. The environment ministry agreed with us that the forest should be protected."
Indeed it is true that the MOEFCC declared the Mahan Forest as "inviolate". Then why the big animosity towards Greenpeace , when both MOEFCC and Greenpeace were on the same page ? Greenpeace need not always be dead right but in this case at least why can't the MOEFCC gracefully accept that the NGO had a strong point. Thanks to their agitation one of the largest Sal forests in N India with half a million trees was saved. Give them credit for this campaign at least.

The Greenpeace Priorities
by SUDEEP ROY on Nov 19, 2015 06:01 AM  | Hide replies

01. Clean Rivers
02. Vehicular Pollution
03. Solid Waste Disposal for Toxic Material
04. Effluent Management from Industries
05. Noise Pollution in Public Places

Instead of these priorities, Greenpeace started demonstration against coal mining and uranium mining. Any resistance which comes in the way of development of India will not be tolerated.

These guys should attend my lectures on sustainability.

good word and objectives are their cover to collect money and act against the country's development on the behest of foreigners or say foreign powers, who have contributed Pollution the most per person in their land and now blackmailing India through such ignorant people who are working for them . just to disrupt Indian progress. Still India is contributing much lower pollution per person as compared to developed countries in the World.
So the ban on such organisations are essential for the development of India.

No, if development requires cutting of forests, it has to be done. Counter the tree cutting with planting 1,000 fast growing saplings and sponsor maintenance. Besides, per capita carbon footprint in Western countries is enormous as compared to India. What Greenpeace is doing about it ? I have not seen a single promotion by them to conserve fuel and energy in the West. Neither the car population is reduced nor air conditioning nor lighting.

If they are really interested, they can start afresh and follow all legal procedure. Abandon Green Greed and create a new org. Continue the activism. There are tons of other orgs which continue to operate. Ther are many others that got shut down. What is so specail about this org that media is highlighting it?

Answer to your last question: they fought the govt on certain issues and exposed them.

The court will decide who is telling the truth: you and the govt, or Greenpeace.
