the accused wasn't even charged with rape.. that was the most shocking part
he got just 7 years that too served concurrently for assault and murder.
I want to know why society doesn't have a right to know such people's face and photo via media.. we don't want to unknowingly mix with such criminals..
tomorrow we may interact with dec 16th juvenile..because no one knows how he looks

Dying with dignity
by Vijay Sahani on May 20, 2015 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

While the Hon'ble SC has stated that every Indian has a fundamental right to live life with dignity, it has refused to interpret death as part of life. Dying with dignity should be interpreted as part of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution.

Hon'ble SC should revisit this issue. Indian Parliament should also make a law on euthanasia laying down the procedure for giving end-of-life with dignity to Indian citizens.

If one cannot die with dignity, can one live with dignity?

Aruna's case.
by subhash phadkar on May 20, 2015 08:56 AM

Aruna's case has two aspects. One is criminal and other is medical.Aruna suffered for 42 years by care taken by the nursing staff of KEM hospital without knowing what is happening to her.SC also did not view this suffering kindly and granted a limited scope for euthanasia. The criminal aspect is the burking of a serious crime by police and KRM hospital authorities. With the result the criminal received least punishment-of 7 years in jail!!Why not invoked the provisions of Nirbhaya case in this case? The victim has died due to the injuries caused by a certain ward boy Walmiki.

the zombies on marathi roads should be sent to pakistani border to defend our country if they are so interested in protecting us they can also get daily hafta from terrorists wanting to cross over to india..central government is collecting road tax, vehicle tax, state government is also collecting plus toll tax, then all roads are built by municipal corporations so why state government takes tax then they again want tax on roads everyday and this is only in maharashtra and mumbai

for Aruna Shanbaug's case, I am utterly surprised by attitude of our people, media, that this case is being seen as an euthanasia case, rather than being seen by our so called cultured society as another case of Rape and attempted murder gone un-punished under rape laws and under punished over all. The criminal got out after spending 14 years in jail and the victim couldn't even recover in 42 years, who got punished more. What euthanasia man, she was already murdered 42 years ago doing her duty and yet being denied justice. Shouldn't we talk about our weak Rape laws and law in general, rather than speaking out euthanasia. Someone rightly said Indian society is too immature and hypocritic for topics like euthanasia.
