This is what great Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore said who is now on death bed ... Nations are not run on ideologies, democracy or dictatorship but pragmatism (practical approach). It is the discipline of a nation that determine its people destiny.
Like he said if we had not followed American innovation, technology we wouldn't have got rid of our backwardness, but other part of america is totally unacceptable. Lee said to American leaders that First, you must have order in society. Guns, drugs and violent crime all go together, threatening social order. Then the schools; when you have violence in schools, you are not going to have education, so you’ve got to put that right. Then you have to educate rigorously and train a whole generation of skilled, intelligent, knowledgeable people who can be productive. I would start off with basics, working on the individual, looking at him within the context of his family, his friends, his society. But the Westerner says I’ll fix things at the top. One magic formula, one grand plan. I will wave a wand and everything will work out. It’s an interesting theory but not a proven method.
There is, of course, another reason for our success. Singapore has been able to create economic growth because we facilitated certain changes while we moved from an agricultural society to an industrial society. We had the advantage of knowing what the end result should be by looking at the West and later Japan.
Modi can not control christians who might carry out their conversions. Likewise he can not control Hindus. If he tries to control Hindus, they would confront him with conversion questions, which he can not control. He also can not control media which twists stories and creates wrong perception abt him. If one is allowed by law, the second also allowed by same law. Only thing he can do is to use law enforcement agencies under control of central govt (not state govt police). He must do it. anyway he does it.
Isolated incidents must not be blown out of proportion. This fellow as well as the Vatican must explain desecration of Hindu temples in the US and elsewhere.
Stray incidents are happening. Large country with too much population, all religion faiths are here. It's not a developed country like Us, Uk, France etc. Even there Sikh being harassed, temples are vandalised n so on. I think the religious leaders n followers of faith have to be tolerant. By blaming Modi or Indians n people R not going to help. In each incident the polic n appropriate action R being taken. Unfortunately the media is 24X365 n the incidents keep coming every minute makes things worse.
You invoke USA whose record against black skinned people is pathetic. Obama is to improve justice to them before "advising" India. Also ask him to retract the infamous Joshua project where conversion is advocated. Do you have guts to do that? Or will you simply pontificate here?

Obama said what he did in India as many in the U.S. still think that he is a Muslim. By stressing on religious harmony, he was trying to reach out to all extremists, for what it is worth.
A question to these guys , would black americans go to European Union or Africa seeking their help to end violence against them. Moreover why not ask the sleeper cells like Missionaries and Churches to stop anti national activities at the behest of USA and other alien countries.
When things dont get done easily at home, call the attention of International Community to bring justice to those affected especially minorities in India. With the deafening silence of the prime minister on such issues of hatred being pumped against the minorities, the OPTION is to bring international pressure. Bringing SANCTIONS and dis-continuing financial assistance will bring a lot of change in the government rather than just asking only.

I could not but agree with you. Modi knows that the West cannot ignore the huge buying power that the ever increasing Indian population and so Modi is going all out and making the right noises WHILE DOING NOTHING in particular. If you look at it impartially, the government apart from slogans has not done anything tangible till date. The budget too was a damp squib and catered to the industrialists rather than the industrious.
