He doesnt want to be hyphenated as an indian. He is clear in his thinking when he said that he is american and if he wanted to be indian he would stay in india. But some people who have left the shores for their own prosperity to the US cant be termed as indians in a true sense. It may be that the so called indians who have not contributed to the country now want to be called as indians so they dont feel guilty for abandoning their motherland. The portuguese, spanish, english who came become indians would all like to be associated with their former countries.
This guy is all American. This he as quoted number of times. He has objected to American Press addressing him as Indian American. This shows that he doesn't like his Indian roots or this could be a political stance to become closer to the Americans.
Whwn are we going to stop this fobia of calling Americans as Indian American? People like Jindal have openly said that they have nothing to do with India, still we are crazy to talk about his ancestry in India. What is the point in saying that his family name appears on the electicity bill?
