Happiness and contentment - the true treasures of life
by ramesh ram on Aug 13, 2015 06:37 PM

Happiness is a state of mind. Happiness does not come by money power and materialistic comforts. Happiness and contentment are the sweetest things in life. One who has these is a successful individual. To attain these two things, we must introspect self and be in the status of self, only then we can get the true crux of life-happiness and contentment

Happiness n the world..
by Hitendra Singh on Aug 13, 2015 12:15 AM

Happiness is directly related to teej and tauhars- that is festivals.. Rural India has round the month festivals from weekly and monthly on small scale..
Includes even days full moon, Amavasya dark night. Also Holi dashera Ganpati diwali on very big scale. Full moon day and Amasya-dark night.
With the result getting labour to work 24X7 days is a big issue.
So happiness levels has to be measured with rural peoples enjoying festivals through out the year..
Here no nation can beat India !!!

Once people lives as slaves, little good things happening around will make them happy. Indian's are too free and any small bad things makes people unhappy here

Happines index
by N.sivaprasad on Jul 21, 2015 08:32 PM

If this conclusion is based on assumption that the happiness is proportional to human development then the the assumption is doubtful and in shakey ground because the scatter digram is very much scattered particularly at lower range. Also happiness depends on other qualifying factors such as contentment , relationship, community living etc

Root cause is lack of truct among soceity

Trust is the most important habit that leads not only to specatcular successes but also to great happiness and joy. But unfortunately the habit and quality termed as TRUST has diminished among almost 90% of Induians. Unless the trust begins flurish India will have to suffer from unhappiness and sorrow. cany any one in India go to any Govt office with a smiling face be it village level panchayath or Taluka level Municipality or district level Collector office or income tax office etc. Every official looks at a person coming to that office as prospective bribe giver. Unless govt machinery works for the people and for the nation happyness can be a distant dream people find happiness in spending on alcohols etc their ill gotten money.
