Most hyped up disease ever. Many common curable diseases cause much more death. But almost all Govt. and NGO funding and attention are for AIDS. It is a shame to waste so much public money on a disease which is hardly worth the effort, when so much remains to be done in improving health care for other curable diseases.

If not for awareness and care it would have reached epidemic proportions. Mind you the death rate will still be there for another 10-30 years because HIV is a slow process for a full blown aids.
