consider some facts
by srnvs san on Jun 03, 2015 02:05 PM

1. IITM merely withdrew the approval to use IIT’s name and logo on APSC publicity material. IITM didn’t ban the Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle (APSC).

2. In ‘Kerala Students Union vs Sojan Francis on 20 February, 2004’, the Kerala High Court held that “once students are admitted to an educational institution they are bound by the code of conduct laid down by the educational institutions through the prospectus or college calendar and it is implicit that they should observe the code of conduct necessary for the proper administration and management of the institution…wisdom of laying down those restrictions cannot be challenged by the student after getting admitted to the educational institution. The right to admission not being absolute there could be regulatory measures for ensuring educational standards and maintaining excellence in education.”

3. This pseudo Christian organization violated code of ethics of IITM.

4. You are in educational institute does not give you right to talk whatever you feel like.

5. Public is behind IIT-M management.

6. The so called student group has been using abusive language. If there is a disagreement there are ways and means to express it, abusive language is not the way to do it.

They were banned because they did not follow the rules
by anjaneya on Jun 03, 2015 08:15 AM

Why is that no media is sending this message to all the readers, instead they are adding masala twisting the essence to increase TRP

They keep hammering smiti Irani who has no role at all in issue of ban. Even the letter which HRD Ministry forwarded to IIT seeks only their comments and not asking them to ban as quoted by Times and other news channel

So called secular Govts have ruined the nation with divisive politics and have not spared even educational institutions

Special Community?
by BS on Jun 02, 2015 11:02 PM  | Hide replies

I , a citizen of India has realised today that SC students enjoy special privileges and rights compared to other citizens of India.

The main issue is not freedom of expression. But action taken against SC student's group.

They were banned because they did not follow the rules. They should be grateful to the Govt for having given them admission despite poor marks and are supposed to study to cope up with the syllabus and not fall into the trap of the dirty politicians
