It is sad that at this hour of Kalam's passing this writer can question the credibility of India's missile & space program, the one that was spearheaded by the likes of Vikram Sarabhai, Brahm Prakash & Kalam himself. Self-reliance was & is a key to this program & technologies were created from scratch. Under Kalam, DRDO was galvanized, teams were built & it became an organisation that created world-class satellites & launch vehicles. That seed was sown, the spirit has caught on & today we have tremendous organisations like ISRO & various defence establishments working across the board to create missile systems like Agni & Prithvi. Not by relying on other countries, but with sheer persistence & ingenuity of countless Indian scientists & engineers. Today we can launch a probe to Mars, piggyback satellites from other countries on the PSLV & we have a missile family that can strike targets well beyond our borders & we are well on our way to create ICBMS! If there was not a DRDO and a Kalam & the many inspirational figures before him...where would we be? Kalam had a vision for India, as did Sarabhai & other leaders. This hour should be a celebration of Kalam & everything that’s right with our system. Not belittle his India & choose this time to bash up its organisations for which he gave everything he had. Let’s join in & make a fitting tribute to him that we in our individual capacity, big or sm

Sir Kalam the TEACHER,YOU have not left us.YOU will always be in INDIANs Heart. We promise that we will always follow YOUR TEACHING -Have KNOWLEDGE and WORK HARD for Development of India.
Even when the President passes away when in post........the Political Group talks and mourns about his passing away.......... An Ex President passing away is merely reported in the News Paper to keep the record. When a Scientist passes away.........one may miss it on the newspaper........ When a defense Scientist passes away........then it is news only in the corridors of the Defense Ministry.......
Here Kalam sir's passing away is echoing beyond the Political Circles and Scientific Community.......the whole nation is grieving like the families have lost a member of their family............
India has true "unity in diversity". A President may hail from BOATMAN's Family while an IFS (Indian Foreign Service) incumbent must come from blue-blooded families to better adapt to pose-posture & table-manners!
This is what if a person gets education properly, not involved in religious activities, not following fatwas, and importantly puts nations first before religion!
