by Haramohan Roy on Jul 26, 2015 07:11 PM

The Hindutva force, which obviously cannot boast of great artistes, appear willing to finish off the great institute of FTII.

want to teach ancient Natya Sashtra in this institute. Taking us back to medieval period. In some years from now the middle east and north africa will be more open, more democratic and more morden than us.

During last 10 years Great personalities appointed by UPA as chairmen have destroyed FTII. No convocation for last 17 years, No student passed out during last 7 years, No new student was admitted last 7 years, No class happened last 1 year.

Just like world famous Harward Economic Scholars Mamohan & Chidambaram have destroyed Indian economy

All these years Cong-Left nexus had forcibly kept out Sangh Parivar as untouchable. With the support of the voters of India, Sangh is capturing what they always deserved

Protests
by Gaurav GUPTA on Jul 20, 2015 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

The FTII Students are wrong in protesting the Appointment. It’s like Students Protesting the Appointment of a principal. They have no right to protest. Let FTII declare that all the students who are protesting and thus, (I assume) , are not attending classes, submitting their projects are here by Rusticated. See how the protests dissolve. Do not take back those students and go for fresh admissions in their place. Shame on those bolly wood actors who are trying to fan the flames by giving irresponsible statements and instigating the students to protest

Chairman? Why a chairman for a cinema school?
by anup roy on Jul 20, 2015 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

Bimal Roy,K.Asif, Mehboob Khan S.Mukherjee's, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar,Manoj Kumar, Basu Bhattacharya, Hrishikesh Mukherjee,Ritwik Ghatak,Satyajit Ray,B.R. Chopra, V.Shantaram,Anil Biswas, Naushad, Shankar Jaikishan, Kalyanjee Anandjee,SD,RD Barman, Radu Karmakar etc. never needed any Institute or 'Zindabaad-zindabaad/chairman hatao' sort of slogan - they were all stalwarts though in their own fields.
Governmentkeefazulkharcheebandkaroistarahkeeinstitutebandkaro, this is my slogan, a tax-payers slogan. Or else, do the justice to the word, chairman and appoint an IAS as the chairman of the Institute.

Your argument is like "Dhirubhai Ambani never went to a business school. To become a businessman, business schools are not required"!

There is one Dhirubhai Ambani out of 1 million businessmen. We need not one but thousands of Dhirubhai Ambani (excluding his cronyism, of course). Business schools cannot make a mediocre person a visionary entrepreneur but it can make a mediocre person a good manager. To become an entrepreneur you need passion which business schools cannot "teach". But in todays' world you need technique alongwith passion.

Likewise, we need FTII to make good technicians. To become a good filmmaker, you need passion which is inborn.
