Hartosh Bal

It is a joke Hartosh Bal...

You write for a book by Nayantara who returned her award on intolerance citing Dadri incident, but no action on Malda incident.

You are OK with Mani Shankar Iyer to speak in book launch event, who begged Pakistan to unseat indian Prime Minister and also supported terrorists across.

You are OK with Kumar Ketkar who is a die-hard fan of Congress and supports the party in any eventuality.

But you have a problem with Swapan Das who is very sincere in his position.

Whole nation knows who the real, pest in the country is.

Swapan Das Gupta is not untouchable- Hartosh Singh Bal
by Pradip Shah on Jul 14, 2015 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

Hartoshsingh Bal is regular on debate show on Times Now anchored by Arnab Goswamy and is a totally bias person. I dont know why Arnab Goswamy is giving undue importance to him which he dont deserve. Swapan Das Gupta is also regular on Times Now but he is very frank and non bias and see everything on its merit and give his frank opinion unlike Hartoshsingh Bal. As far as his self proclaimed intelligence Hartoshsingh Bal is concerned, less said is better. He is making himself a laughing stock by questioning intelligence of Swapan Das Gupta a gentleman.I always wonder on what qualities and qualification Hartosh Singh Bal is being regularly invited By Times Now.

He is anti BJP and anti Modi but not in explicit way He would never use strong words to criticize Congress wrong doing. You are right - he is self claimed intellectual but he is very right in saying he don't respect intellectually Swapan simply because he is not intellectual.

Nehru - the architect of secular democratic India.
by Ahi Sen on Jul 12, 2015 03:48 PM

Proper assessment of Nehru requires a free thinker which is a rare commodity today. The politicians of the present days in India are mostly lacking in understanding of values of democracy where freedom of expression is one of the pillars. Democracy in India is facing the gravest challenge from the political parties where inner democracy is not prevailing. I would prefer to recommend Indian writers to study works of free thinkers of contemporary period where Rabindranath Tagore and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi were meeting their counterparts in Europe to exchange views on contemporary events around the world.

What aboout emergency
by Gopinath Vakkada on Jul 11, 2015 07:07 PM  | Hide replies

Emergency happened just 11 years after Nehru's death and that too imposed by his daughter. Then how can the author say that people are standing up and criticizing, and the fact that democracy is functioning in a way that does not let Modi and the BJP with its majority override all dissent is in part also a testament to the legacy Nehru has left behind. The greatest bulldozing of the democratic principles happened just and few years after Nehru's death and if he had left such a legacy then at least his daughter should not have broken it. Actually Nehru left a legacy of leftist orientation of the Indian academicia dominating and silencing others and of no respect for science and scientific academicia.

Well said. This gang has no audacity to face the facts. True Nehru is a huge Baniyan tree with socialistic leanings and relatively less corrupt. That suited his times. His 'non-coop' "non-algnment' etc are not positive in content. His daughter has imposed Emegency and gaged the press. Where were these cronies when JP aws fighting corruption. This country was failed by the so called communists and socialists who amassed wealth much more like Congreess goondas.
It is better that Mr PVN has given a gobye to the Nehriuvian concepts and see what happened to the so called USSR. Now 11 independant countries. These left journalist have no ideiological moorings.

Plenty has been written on Nehru
by aam admi on Jul 11, 2015 03:02 PM  | Hide replies

Nothing new is left, rather it looks boring to read the repetition. Nehru inspired by England in the west and Russia, he was friendly to China. In his over ambition to be recognized as a International figure , he sacrificed , the interest of the Nation for which he was responsible.
He loved sycophants and disliked critics.
