SMOKING VS VAPING
by Kandhari Vipin on Jul 31, 2018 12:25 PM

DEAR ALL LAST YEAR I VISITED GERMANY, ITALY, FRANCE, PARIS ETC AND FOUND THAT HUGE NUMBERS OF SMOKERS HAS SHIFTED TO VAPING,(ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES) EVEN DOCTORS ARE ADVISING TO USE VAPING AS PER UK HEALTH MINISTRY VAPING IS 95% SAFER THEN CONVENTIONAL CIGARETTES. ON MY RETURN TO INDIA I FOUND THE GOOD STUFF OF VAPING DEVICES AND LIQUIDS AT DAMPF COMPANY CONNAUGHT PLACE NEW DELHI www.ecigdc.com AND I ALSO SHIFTED TO VAPING FROM LAST ONE YEAR, I AM FEELING MUCH BETTER NOW I SUGGEST ALL SMOKERS SHOULD TRY VAPING IT WILL HELP IN QUIT SMOKING FOR SURE. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL

During 1962-70s I used to smoke 1 or 2 packets a day.
then I reduced to 1 pack a day; after some time later it camedown to 5cigaretes a day.It was followed by 2 a day
by 2006 I kept 1 cigarette a day

By2007 I have stopped smoking completely.

Now in 2017 I don't have any urge or like to smoke.

HOW IS IT?

Good achievement but what about smoking vehicular/burning smoke?? That is much more dangerous and sadly unavoidable...

to have a ban to quit smoking, nothing matters, the will within us,should tell us,and that moment we will quit smoking, another thing, how tobacco leaves are being allowed, and even if it is allowed, why not to see, alcohol is being consumed, which should be stopped at once, many families have gone bankrupt, just due to alcohol, calling a dry day or a wet day is not enough, first have a look into the liquor factor, which is far more dangerous than any thing, anyway smoking is not all good, first go and see the belt of liquor, which is flowing any street.

BANNING LIQUOR AND TOBACCO WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER 30 YEARS AGO. NOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. THE BEST THING THE GOVT. SHOULD DO IS TO BAN PEOPLE WHO TAKE INTOXICANT AND TOBACCO PRODUCT, ALSO WHO DEAL WITH THEM TAKING ANY GOVT. POSITION . THEN IT IS EASY TO CONTROL IT

Mr Shetty. Very good suggestion . Additionally, the Govt servant who smoke or chew tobacco should allowed sick leave and reimbursing medical facility.Their Annual Performance Report should have one column whether they are found consuming tobacco or not.

Banning Liquor is not the solution!Govt. should implement the existing law judiciously e respective of the person's social or political position, religion, cast etc without any political interference.

Smoking needs more research data.

Wintson Churchil would drink like fish and smoke like railway engine. Lived longer. How do we explain. Some dont smoke and die of ling cancer, may be the rate of cancer may be high among those who smoke. We need more data on this. the pleasure and economy may be worth counting before we ban. Many in Rural India do chew tobaco and live longer.

Dear Mr Swaminath, please do not quote EXCEPTIONS to the rule and make it look like NORM. Studies, an infinite number of them, do point out to the possible reasons that AGGRAVATE and help increase the cancer rate. Tobacco is one of them (nicotine is a dangerous addictive) There are not many famous people in this world. And Famous people are closely followed and studied by the public. Churchill was a public figure and he would have been studied well by people...and its just a chance that he did not die of cancer due to smoking, may be if he lived a little longer, we could have known the truth (a few lucky fellows who smoke like a chimney do live like a tortoise, but its an exception). I have seen (mulitple) people around me who have been smokers for years and have died a miserable death (the quality of their life degraded very badly as they neared their death). Bans wont help. Statutory warnings on the cigarette packets have had little effect on the smokers. what is needed is a free public counseling (and a REPEATED counseling) to drill the point into these smokers heads.

This is an oft used argument by smokers. Being a past smoker myself i wished this were true, this is nothing more than a horrible prayer. Smoking kills and gives you horrible death. In addition makes you impotent and gives you the low stamina. Nothing can change this fact.

Baning of anything will not serve the purpose. There should be inner will to quit smoking. I had started smoking in the early 1980 and quit in March'2010 all of a sudden. After that I had not smoked or even didn't get any inner will for smoking.
